1.
What's there not to like..? The first of those (the black'un...) is a snip at that price, hard case, new battery an' all. Light weight, 'real' Fender, Jap made... If looks are really of that much importance to you (and why not..?), then put up with the weight and that's that. If you want a superb lightweight instrument, look no further. Just my opinion, of course; good luck with your search...
Useful, thanks! /sarcasm
 2.
No good would come of this, there would just be more spam on the forum and less things for sale.
I agree with this
 3. Buyer has gone quiet on me, so this is back up for sale! £280 - come on guys, this is a ridiculous bargain
 4.
As I said in my previous post, try a Precision Lyte there's always some on ebay such as.......... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Precision-Bass-Lyte-Lightweight-Plays-Beautifully-Fantastic-Condition-/270916509394?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3f13e1ded2 or this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Precision-Lyte-Bass-Japanese-1993-1994-Red-Burst-Flame-/260962293969?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3cc29098d1 I know these sound good cuz I watched a guy playing one locally a while back playing a tobacco sunburst one and he got a great sound from his.....Tony.
They're cool and all, but they don't have the classic precision look
 5.
Feel guilty now
Why do you feel guilty dude? Go on, how heavy (or light) is it?
 6.
I'd like to say that being huge and manly means I can cope with 11 ish lbs of 1978 Fender P,but as you've met me I probably wouldn't get away with that.... Are you after an actual Fender? My 2008 Squier is a featherweight compared to my Fender.Perfectly good instrument when fitted with better pickups.
I am hoping for an actual Fender, however I'm considering the Matt Freeman signature. But, if I got one of those I'd have to replace the neck for two reasons - firstly because I can't stand the gloss finish, and secondly because I couldn't have either the signature on the front of the headstock or the Squier logo (before anyone says it, I'm not a snob! I'd be happy to gig a Squier and have in the past, but I hated the way other people have judged me for it.)
 7.
yes. See my previous post! Super light pre-painted bodies for $55. You just need a donor bass for bits.
I did look at those and I'm very interested. But would they sound like a fender? And what about neck dive - would that not be an issue on a body that light?
 8. So, is my dream of a Fender Precision still alive? Can one be had for under 9lbs at a reasonable price?
 9.
No is the short answer!
How heavy is that USA Precision of yours Mike? I'm curious.
No, you`re not a wuss. However, I too have a bad back/shoulder, and my previous Precisions were usually under 9 lbs. When I bought my 77, it weighed 10 lbs. And with the strap length I used, it was a tad heavy, and made my shoulder ache a fair bit. So I raised the strap - not too much, I play in a punk band, too high wouldn`t be right - and now it`s fine. To be honest, the heavier bass at that strap height is less of a pull than my 8.8 lb basses slung lower. Just a thought, it worked for me, maybe for you as well.
I have my bass fairly high anyway (waist-ish) - otherwise my beer gut wouldn't let me reach the strings
As well as Lozz's strap height advice, I was wondering if you use a comfort strap (or other padded ergonomic strap)? They can really improve weight distribution across your shoulders. I'd also say maybe try a double strap? It's essentially two straps that go over one shoulder each and meet behind you back. Ultra comfy and makes a 15lb bass seem like nothing! They don't look very cool though! Truckstoo
I have a padded leather strap that's about 2.5" wide. I don't know if that's sufficient?
 10. For not being able to cope with basses much over 8.5lbs? I find that 9lbs is my absolute maximum (partly due to back trouble and partly because I'm a weakling girl), which hasn't really been a problem in the past. But now that I'm looking for a Fender Precision I find that anything that I come across that's in my price range, in a colour that I like and with a maple fretboard is between 9-10 lbs, sometimes even more. Has this been a problem for anyone else, or should I just "man up"?
 11. It is a great bass! I'm the previous (and first) owner, and I have nothing bad to say about it. Only traded because I couldn't get along with 5 strings
 12.
£280 for a German Corvette - I paid more for my old Corvette and the seller had drilled a new hole so he could move the volume control! It's definately a buyers market at the moment
It really is. Such a shame there are so few buyers around!
 13. Thanks guys This one is now sold pending payment/collection.
 14.
You just won't find another bass for this or double this price that will match it, the wenge nacks are just fantastic. Idea of replacing this with a Fender is criminal! bump for an awesome instrument!

That's a mad price!!!!!!! I just bought Corvette from BC and it's a great piece of musical art. This is £100 cheaper than mine (no complaints about the my price whatsoever, worth every penny) Come on people, get with the Warwick train at a very very low price!!!!!!
Thanks guys! I know, I can't believe it's still here. It's a very low price for a great bass!
 15.
Perhaps better posting on "eBay links" on the BC Market Place?
It's not for promoting your own auctions (so says the rules) This is probably the best place
 16. Skezza was after trading for one of these - might be worth giving him a shout.
 17. Bump for you mate. I've got one exactly the same for sale just up the road from you (Gloucester) if anyone wants two
