1. Wow, brings back memories. I had one of these as my first proper guitar... must have been about 1993 ish. Good luck with the sale
2. If it helps, the neck looks like ovangkol and the board looks like wenge. Not sure what the body is though. Is the price firm, or are you considering offers? Any trades?
3.
A "this is too nice to be languishing, picks up a map to check where Gloucester is" type bump.
Nowhere is too far for a Spector I forgot to say in the OP, I'm willing to meet somewhere... perhaps half way. I don't have a car but can get the train to most places.
4. Sorry mate. I feel for you, truly. I sold a bass I loved once and was devastated, but was lucky enough to be able to buy the same one back. Fingers crossed you're able to do the same some day

9. Zombie thread! I'd like to share pictures of all the basses I've owned, in (mostly) chronological order. Cort Curbow Hondo II Ric copy Harley Benton Fretless Warwick Corvette $$ (still own, will never sell) Aria STB-J (refinished by yours truly)
10. The pick guard has been sprayed matt black but I imagine that's easy to remove with a bit of white spirit if required. Looks good though Also comes with pickup cover. Almost as new apart from the addition of the pickup cover (so there are holes drilled of course) and very few light scratches. Can be viewed before buying as can all of my items - just drop me a message. £200 collected
11. This is a very good deal. Don't understand why it's still here!
12. Bump! Have still been um-ing and ah-ing over whether to keep this or not as it's such an awesome bass, but it's still up for sale.
13. Leather strap http://pbckt.com/pU.uDv56Y not easy to photograph, hope this is ok Lightning strap http://pbckt.com/pU.uDv8Ug Apologies for the links but I'm on my phone
14. It's a lovely bass. I can't afford it though Have a free bump
15. Thanks Noel! It does indeed have a serial number, and this is available on request. I'm still blown away by the quality of this bass, and it certainly comes as no surprise that it's so close to an NS2 in quality.
16. Not yet but I'll get some ASAP. The DSL strap is about 2.5 inches wide and is black. No padding so it's not bulky. I have another that I use regularly and it's very comfortable.
17. Hasn't been used. £15 posted. Also, I have a quality strap (purple with lightning on) - £8 posted Pics below
18. I had one of these (about 15 years ago) and it was great Free bump
19. Where all of the NS-2A basses were made I've updated the OP with some more info.
20. As I need the cash and my Ibanez isn't selling, I'm afraid I need to let this one go. It's a monster of a bass. The previous owner upgrade the pickups to an active EMG PJ system which can run on either 9v or 18v. This has the fully curved NS body shape which is extremely comfortable to play, and the bass weighs 8.5 lbs. The neck is dead straight but the truss rod won't turn - the reason for this is that is hasn't been turned once in the whole 22 years since it was built. Which says a huge amount about the quality of the bass. I'm sure it wouldn't take much to sort this out but I haven't needed to have it looked at as the neck is perfect. The only other issue is a couple of small cracks in the lacquer on the back of the headstock. I've had these checked by a man in the know, and he has confirmed that there are no cracks in the wood, just in the thick clearcoat. Pictures to follow of this, as it's so minimal I'm having trouble getting it to show in photos! The NS-2A's were made during the Kramer era - around 7000 were produced between 1987-1990 in Korea. There's more information here: http://spectorbass.c...el_years_2.html (about half way down the page) - all accurate besides the electronics package, which, as mentioned above, has been upgraded. These original Spector import basses have a great reputation with this top of the range NS-2A model often being rated as 90% the quality of the legendary full US NS2 models, but for a fraction of the price - the main differences being non-gold hardware, Rosewood rather than Pau Ferro board and 3A rather than 5A grade maple bodies! I've upgraded the strap buttons to Dunlop dual design strap lock buttons, and just had the input jack replaced as it was a bit intermittent, and now works perfectly. All in all, it's in excellent condition for a 22 year old instrument. I'm asking £500 or best offer which is a huge bargain! Collection only from Gloucester. 21. Hey guys, I'd love to come. Is it far from New Street train station? I think I'd only be able to bring one bass with me as I'd be getting the train.
22.
Lol, trans black would look cool - as long as you can still see that lovely flaming through it! Happy to negotiate on price !
If I had the cash dude.... this wouldn't be still for sale!
