1. Sorry for the delay guys. I don't know the answer unfortunately however, these are sold pending collection Thanks for the interest
2. These were bought for my Squier Matt Freeman bass which I've since sold. Barely used at all The pickup cover is the standard size and should fit pre-drilled holes. The bridge cover will fit over a normal bridge on a normal Precision, but may require additional holes - I've not tried so I can't be sure. It was however designed to fit over a high mass bridge for example the Matt Freeman sig, and the Squier CV Precisions. £20 posted for the pair (cost me £30 plus postage very recently) I'll split if anyone's interested in one or the other. Feel free to make me an offer Photo of these on my MF sig stuck on with blu-tack (!)
3. I'd love to come to this, but I don't have a car these days
4. Dude. What are you doing? You gotta keep this beast, it's beautiful!
5. Bought for a project that never happened unfortunately. As far as I know they have never been used, as the previous owner pulled them out of his brand new MIM to replace them with Seymour Duncans. £50 posted, but will of course consider offers
6. I bought Dan's Warwick $$ - great bass, as described. Fast shipping and friendly communications Thanks!
7. Pete bought my Warwick $$ from me this afternoon. Prompt collection and payment, and a thoroughly nice bloke! Cheers mate, enjoy the bass
8. For sale only! I've just bought myself a Warwick 5 string so I'm afraid my beloved bass needs to be sold to a) keep the other half happy and b ) recoup some of the money I just spent on the 5 string! I'll be very sorry to see this go, but it has to. If I was a millionaire, it would be a different story, haha!!! This is a stunning bass, finished in nirvana black oil. 2 MEC passive humbuckers with an active preamp, 2 band EQ. Price for a new one of these is listed on Thomann at £1407.77 (very specific!) but I'll sell this for £600 or nearest offer. Currently strung with orange DR neon's, but can be replaced with Rotosound if required. Would prefer collection, but I can deliver pretty much anywhere in the UK for cost of train fare (I don't currently own a car). Picture of the bass is my avatar at the moment (note the awesome woodgrain!) and I'll add more pictures later.
9.
Sod's law 2 potential buyers come along at once!
Like buses eh? Sorry bluesparky I've been quietly considering it for a while, and just decided that f*** it, only live once! It's partly my 30th birthday present to myself
10.
This bass is now sold to our very own Evil Undead, who I hope has many happy years with my wonderful bass. Details of my new one will be floating around the forum soon I'm sure!
Thanks DC I've been denying my need for a 5-string for a while, but a new project has made it absolutely necessary! These are great basses, and I'm stoked to have bought this one. And extremely skint haha! My beloved $$ will be going up for sale later today.
11.
I'd go for a Musicman Stingray. Particularly the one that Rumble is selling at the minute, looks a real beaut. They're not neck through basses though. That or a Spector
Neck through is a must, plus stingrays are too heavy Thanks for the suggestion though
12. Ok, so I've been thinking about going custom, but also wanting to keep my options open with regards to a new bass. I'll be selling/trading my beloved Warwick Corvette to hopefully get "the one bass" (I know, I sound like Gollum) that I'll be hopefully happy with for a few years. So I would like some recommendations for basses that are already available on the market. I've so far been looking at Spector, Ibanez, Warwick, ESP/LTD, Schecter, Dean, amongst others. Budget - ideally £600, but I could go up to £800 for the right bass - and I don't mind buying new or used. My main criteria are - neck through construction, 5 strings, and has to be under 8.5lbs due to back trouble. I play classic rock & punk with one band and metal with another. Any suggestions? Feel free to post pics, I'm never opposed to poring over basses. GO!
13. Ok here's one - and this is the thing that I would be most interested in hearing about - what if a custom build doesn't turn out exactly as you hope? Has this happened to anyone?
14. May I ask, what are the advantages of having a custom build?
15. I don't really want to give the price I've been quoted on the forum for obvious reasons, but would anyone be able to give me a rough idea of how much UK luthiers charge for a 5 string lightweight NT?
16. This is something I'm considering at the moment - a luthier in the USA has offered to make me a bass with my specs for a very reasonable price. He specialises in building lightweight basses for people with back problems as he's had a lot of back problems himself. I know of around 10 basses that he's built, but I've never tried one. Does anyone have any advice for me? I've never had a bass built for me before and it's very exciting! But I'd like to hear about other peoples experiences with custom instruments. Thanks in advance
17.
.. ive never seen a made in china label on a Fender..??
I believe Squier instruments have been made in China for a few years. Never seen a Fender made there though.
