1. Great looking EB bass and I just love it finished in white, Shame you are in Spain when I am in Leicester.
2. A publican once told me that they have sell three times as much extra pints on the night for each £ the band charges to make it pay. This does seem rather high but is plausible and so the bands that bring in the crowds can charge more notwithstanding their musical talents or the equipment they use.
3. Is it the original Gibson hardcase with the Thunderbird or another make and do you know the year it was made. Cheers
4. Will you post or is it collect only cheers
5. So where are you based , cheers
6. I thought I would share the solution to my TC Electronic RH 750 problem for those like me were unaware of a common issue and great support from Thierry of TC Electronic. I bought my RH 750 from a fellow basschatter in April 2016 and last week the sound cut out. I knew the signal was getting to the preamp as the onboard tuner continued to work and the aux input still worked with sound through my headphones. I contacted TC Electronic support and I resolved the issue by putting a patch lead between the effects loop send and return. I removed the lead and it continued to work ok. Apparently dirt in the return socket can cause an amp to assume an external pre-amp is connected and cut off the internal pre-amp. I since understand that this can happen to any amp with an effects loop and, whilst I expect this may be well known, it was news for me and hence this post. A long term solution is to get it cleaned but on expressing my reluctance to send it the authorised agent in Sheffield I was advised that I could invalidate any warranty. I told Thierry that I was unsure if there was any warranty left as I had bought it second hand and had been told it was nine months old on purchase. However I thought it could be older as some of the pre-set buttons had small cracks in which I know is a common issue. Thierry then advised me, from the serial number, that it was purchased from Andertons Music Company in early February 2014. Over twice as old as I was told (Hmmm…) but could have been worse. However even though out of warranty Thierry has sent me a full set of replacement buttons and also a set of spare knobs in case these crack and received within five working days. Overall I consider this excellent support from TC Electronic. Thank you Thierry.
7. Have tried emailing TC Electronic support? I found them quite helpful recently on an issue I had with my RH750. Also on my BH250 I have found, on downloading tone print from my iPad, that you do need pick ups on full and do not use via an effect units. Having said this, and I know this be of little comfort, but I do not use the tone print anyway as I prefer my Zoom B2 which offers a wider and better sounding range. I must admit I can't work out how plugging the USB into your PC trips the electrics and sounds like it could be the PC at fault? Good luck!
8. This band in Leicestershire area were good when I saw them a few years ago and certain different to the usual pub cover bands but, for me, after a while one song sounded much the same as another, mind you, I am not the biggest fan of 80s electronic music. http://www.analoguehaze.co.uk/
9. I use http://www.ebay.co.u...S-/182002846998 Lord Sheraton furniture balsam on my Thunderbird every now and then and cleans it very well. Although does not leave a shiny slippery finish so I use Pledge furniture spray, but on to a cloth and not direct onto the wood, on a more regular basis which gives it shiny appearance, slippery neck and removes the cloudy finger marks off the nitro cellulose finish on the body. In fact I use the Lord Sheraton on the back of all my guitar necks as it removes built up grime very effectively.
10. Following the noticeable improvement to my MIM Precision with a KiOgen wiring loom last year I bought a wiring loom for my American Traditional Jazz, as I was finding the sound a little too bright/harsh, and it is now much improved with more depth and a much warmer sound. A great improvement and a very quick and efficient service. Thanks John
11. Looks good but what is the maximum length please
12. ...and bump again with offers considered
13. Specs: 400 Watts, 8 Ohms Two 10" Celestion Speakers High Frequency horn with variable attenuation Weight 26.263kg Width 20" Depth 26.5" Height 21.25" Black pimple covered and not the green carpet Plus Trace Elliot Cover In good condition although has one small mark like a cigarette burn on the side but is not really noticeable. Relatively light for 2 X 10" traditional bass cab not qute that small, even though they are called compact, but definitely lighter and smaller than most Trace Elliot cabs and can still deliver a great tone. I play, or used to play, my TE AH300 through this and a TE compact 15" and it is a great sound. I am only selling as I have gone lighter, as I get older, with a couple of TC Electronics Cabs and amp but the TE Rig is really the better of two. I am planning to keep the amp and 15" at present, mainly for sentimental reasons, but also as backup. Any trial welcome but collect only or deliver locally . Looking for £225. Tradewise perhaps happy to consider another TC Electronic RS112.
14. Here is my SG Reissue bass born in Oct 2005 and has a lovely rich cherry finish and here is my short scale Epiphone ET280 from the mid 70's ( the same as my first proper bass) which I bought a couple of years ago from a fellow bass chatter who imported from the US in pieces. The pickups were shot, so I got them rewound by Armstrong Pickups, and the truss rod was maxed out so I got my local luthier to do the 'add a washer' fix. It is actually 'redder' than this photo suggests just a bright day making it look orange and is in great condition for its age. It came with the bridge cover that is often missing for this guitar but it has lost its thumb rest.
15. Bump with any offers near £300 welcome. Cheers
16. .........or try me with other basses although I do prefer jazz/thunderbird neck profiles Bump
17. Price drop to £310 and will also consider trades for TC Electronic RH450, any valve preamp D class amp or speakers RS210. Cheers
18. As I recently acquired a Fender Jazz US American Traditional I have decided to sell my MIM version. Product dated 2007-2008 the Bass is in lovely condition save for three chips in the back of the body. These were knowingly present when I bought it but they can’t be seen from the front and since purchase I have to covered them with creamish nail varnish which has made them a lot less obvious than the bare wood. They look better than the photos show as I have applied a number of coats of nail varnish since. The neck is brilliant and I was informed when I bought it that it had been upgraded with Radioshop Pickups Handwound Vintage '62 Jazz Bass Pickups. The pickups can be checked out at http://www.radioshop...m/bass-pickups/ – but unfortunately I do not have any documents to confirm their presence. However they look the same as on their website under their covers and they have cloth covered wiring so definitely not the stock pick ups. I think they cost around £140. The bass sounds really smooth and warm whist still maintaining that jazz rasp. I did consider swapping them into the American Traditional but have decided to retain this in stock guise. Bridge cover and thumb rest included and it is a much better looking bass than the American Traditional and I am really unsure which one to sell. Just can’t justify two jazzes. So a great looking and sounding jazz with little wear apart from the three chips which are mitigated by having upgraded pick ups and bridge cover. In view of these upgrades I am looking for £350 and as regards trades maybe a Orange Terror bass amp or with cash your way a Gibson EB Bass. Collection only however as I have no case but I am willing to travel to meet up if not too far I live near Loughborough about 15/20 mins from J23 M1.
19. Thanks for all comments as an an update I decided it was the knobs and not the scrachplate that did not look right and so I have just put on some usual black fender Jazz knobs which has improved its looks greatly.
20. I bought this s/h about two/three years ago as a back up to an AH250 I used to own and this one actually saved my bacon one night at a gig when the AH250 cut out, I think due to overheating. I have since acquired a newer AH300 as my main amp and also a TC Electronic BH250 which is much smaller and lighter to carry than the AH150 as a backup. The AH150 sounds very similar to the AH300 and it looks like it was originally taken out from a combo. It is contained in a large Stagg rack case which does a good job. I also bought separately the pedal (not shown) to remote control the TE mid cut shape and graphic equaliser. It is loud with 150 ‘trace’ watts into 4 ohms and works well but does have the two green button covers missing off the TE mid cut shape and graphic equaliser on the amp but both still function. Looking for £80. Collect only in view of weight I am afraid although we could meet up depending on location. I reside about 15/20 minutes away for Junction 23 of the MI. Now Sold Thanks
21. Hmm..strange that you should say that as I just checked again and my Gibson Thunderbird fits and lids close etc with no issue. I wonder if they have changed the specifications? I also see from the Andertons website that it says it fits the Pro basses and I always understood it did not. I do know that Jazz basses don't fit but I guess if anyone wants this they could bring their bring their T'ird with them to check although I am prepared buy it back if anybody finds it is unsuitable.
22. 'Bit sad' 'Bitsa' now that makes more sense and yes I think it is made up at Fender as a bitsa from spare parts left over in the a corona cupboard
23.
If you're looking for a jazz chrome pot plate I'm sure I've got one somewhere. Looks to me like its a bit sad. So do whatever you like.
Certainly looks strange although I wonder if that is because we are not used to seeing it on a jazz. I am thinking about doing a small reversible mod of putting black Strat knobs on for contrast which may make it happier. I don't think they are that rare but may be in original condition. Certainly plays well and seems to have incredible sustain.
