1. PM'd!
2. Wow, already? That didn't take long at all!
3. I just had a look at your profile and can't see an email address anywhere. Also checked my spam emails and no sign of the message you mention. Hope this is somewhat helpful
4. Hmmm, I kinda like that I do!
5. If the IE Oxide sale falls through, I'll take it!
6.
Octave before and envelope after for fat analogue synth sounds!
+1 occasionally I add some wah for good effect!
7. I recognise that cab!
8. Here would be your best bet I think: http://basschat.co.uk/forum/21-other-musically-related-items-for-sale/
9. Currently in a band that was inadvertantly formed from the ashes of a previous band (previous band: Bullet Six, new band: Son of Six) that the guitarist ruined by becoming so utterly paranoid due to his weed habit that it was completely useless but we've managed to form a coherent and suportive outfit that gigs more than we'd ever thought possible. I suppose it's all down to trust; are you getting the support that you need as a musician from the other members of the band, are they supportive of what you do as a bass player, do they offer constructive criticism where due and do they praise you when you come up with some killer bass riff. are you supportive of your bandmates, do you feel that you're listened to when voicing concerns or asking about structures or chord sequences. I'm pretty damned lucky with the folks I'm currently playing with as we're friends because of the previous band but at the same time if we didn't have that previous connection I'm pretty sure we'd still have the same rapport. Suppose it's all down to experience but yes, I'm extatic to be playing with these folks
10. Either a LPB '69 jazz with matching headstock, ala Herbie Flowers as mentioned earlier, but not 'reliced' (I hate the way that word looks!) or RickFine's '57/58 P bass (which I thought was pretty damned amazing) with the raised A pole piece and no 'Custom Shop' logo on the back of the headstock. Te 'Custom Shop' logo is just a no-go for me, not that I have 2 or 3k to spend ona bass, but if I did then I'd certainly not want that on it.
11. Didn't Trace Elliot use 15" Fanes in the good old days? My old MKV Trace 1518 cab certainly has a (now sadly blown) 15" Fane driver. Got a great sound from it too! Was planning to replace it with a Fane Axiom but never got round to it. I just use my 4x10 now.
12. I see there's been a PM sent. Is the pedal still for sale?
13. Not that I can afford one right now but I'll have a '69 jazz in LPB if someone's feeling flush!
14. Ooooh incredibly tempted! Will examine finances and PM if appropriate!
15. Another vote for the Diago Powerstation - small, lightweight, noiseless, relatively inexpensive and, according to the manufacturer blurb, can power up to 30 pedals of all shapes & sizes. Got one recently and wondered how I managed without it!
16. Here's another vote for the TU-2/3. There's one from May in the Effects for sale section http://basschat.co.uk/topic/176159-fs-boss-tu-2-tuner/page__p__1817894__hl__tu%202__fromsearch__1#entry1817894 No indication it's been sold and only £45
17. Yeah I'm in the market for another P bass so I'd also like to see some pics
18. Just read through looking for a price and discovered it's now sold! Any chance you can edit the header to tell people it's sold, cheers
19. Still for sale and does the £80 include p+p or is that extra? Ta!
20. Aaargh! It's gorgeous and want it but why do people insist on putting things I want up for sale when I don't have the funds? It's dreadfully inconsiderate! Have a bump on me anyway!
21. Well it definitely looks better than his previous offering. You should check his 'Other Items' for a bit of a hoot; he has a plectrum cut from a brass Sabian cymbal which will totally wreck your strings I'd imagine, an old wardrobe/drawer key (?) which is 'A must for any collector' apparently and oddest of all, "Plans on how to build your own penis enlarger"! Although if you do fancy a sly bid on aforementioned 'penis enlarger plans' rest assured, he promises discretion!
22.
Never tried it, but I imagine anything by Leonard Cohen?
We have two Cohen tracks in our set - 'Ain't no cure for Love' and 'Tower of Song'. Not really 'dancey' tracks but they always go down well! 'Superstition' by Stevie Wonder and 'Standing on the Verge of Getting It On' by Funkadelic, on the other hand... Well, needless to say we dropped those two. No pleasing some audiences!
23.
Work on getting ONE note to groove, use space and accent to make that one note groove. Set up the simplest, mid tempo, Boom Tish Boom Tish drum pattern, see if you can make that one note groove. When you can, and you're getting excited by it, do something with that one note that stops it grooving. Switch between the two and try to work out what it is that causes that those feelings. Then add little things to your grooves, build it slowly. Feel it.
This
