1. Actually if you look on the Thomman website, the 2x12 is actually very reasonably priced, it certainly compares well with Bergantino and Epifani. http://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_jh_hc_212...borg_hi_cab.htm
2. I'd be interested in these as well, though I'd have to add a B and C from another set, I think they only come in a 4 string set.
3.
You've inspired me to get back into Hiromi's stuff and transcribing it. Her group sounds soooo much fuller now she has an electric guitar in it.
Dave Fiukzynski is a good guitarist, but I think he kind of takes over a bit on the last album, my favourite has to be 'Brain' with Anthony Jackson on bass, as well as Tony Grey.
4. He is a really nice guy, I sent him a few emails asking about preamps when I was ordering my Sei bass, he couldn't have been more helpful. Slightly off topic, one of the best books that I've read regarding improving as a player, is the Vic Wooten book 'The music lesson'.
5. Are'nt they really expensive, I haven't looked to be honest, I'm only going by what I've read.
6. It's an active cab with a built in 1000 watt digital power amp.
7. I think you were at a different gig, I thoroughly enjoyed it all, in fact I just finished emailing a mate telling him about the 1st band, he's a sax player I've played with for ages. Just goes to show I suppose, what one person likes, someone else hates, never mind, 'tis the way of the world.
8.
Ahh...nice one!!! Might have to check that out! Any more listening material with the keys player, Scott Kinsey?
The tribal Tech albums with Gary Willis, he's also on the live DVD/CD that Matt Garrison brought out a couple of years ago.
9. He was fantastic, I know that's an adjective that gets used a lot, but he seriously was fantastic. The drummer was amazing too, I have an album called 'If' by Fahir Atakoglu with Anthony Jackson on bass, Horacio plays drums on that too if anyone fancies checking him out.
10. Definitely, Stan Clarke last month, Matt Garrison tomorrow, and Victor Wooten next month. All I need now is for Anthony Jackson and Janek Gwizdala to come and play, that'll be my top 5
11.
I have put a feeler out on my Powersoft power amp if you are interested.
How much do you want for it ?.
12.
That's helpful stuff Steve, thanks! Who did you get them shipped through? All the quotes i've had have been in excess of £100...is that right?
That seems a lot, I got my modulus shipped from the states last year for way less than that. I'd watch who I used, Fedex and UPS have been recommended by shops in the US.
13. I've used comfort straps for sometime, but I actually find the leather Fender ones better now, my 6 string is very heavy and the comfort strap seems to have too much give to it, it sinks into my shoulder, the Fender spreads the weight better.
14. Still here !.
15. I'm going to see Matt Garrison, I didn't know about Victor Wooten, I've definitely got to see him, shame I missed Hiromi.
16. Bump, and a price drop.
17. I P/X'ed a tobacco sunburst Jaydee Roadie 2 active for a Jaydee Mark King in something like '87, it had been my 1st real bass, I was about 16 at the time. It had had it's head broken off at some stage before I bought it, and had been profesionally repaired, but you could see the join. It was sold on ebay about 2 years ago, I caught it just as it sold. I emailed the seller and buyer just to say "Hi that used to be mine etc", but they never got back to me. It was serial number 7 if anyone has it.
18.
Twice I've been to Sutton Coldfield and I never got even a sniff of a tea bag.
Steve, believe me, you are very lucky.
19. I've got a chord chart for it if that's any good.
20. Still available. Please see the gear that I'd be willing to trade for, with cash either way. This is a really brilliant bit of kit, it's just not right for me. I can deliver within reason. I also welcome anyone wanting to try it, but I should warn you I make awful tea.
21. If I were to get a more traditional bass, but a 5 string it would be a Sei jazz bass, there are a couple in the for sale section at the moment. I know for a fact that two gigs I've gone after recently I haven't got because of the less than traditional look of my bass.
22. Here's a photo.
23. What pre are you going for then Steve ?.
24.
Wouldn't you still need a pre-amp ?
You can plug straight into the back, but you do to get the best from it. Adding a pre gives a line level output into it.
25. Welcome to my on/off love affair with my Bergantino IP cab. It is a fantastic item, but after spending a bit of time with an Epi UL502 and 4x10 cab yesterday, I think I prefer the Epifani rig, it's just a different sound, not better, just different. I collecting an Epifani 4x10 tomorrow and I really don't need two rigs. I'm asking £795 or a trade for an Epifani UL502 head or Markbass F1 plus cash. It's in absolutely perfect condition, I live in the West Midlands.
