Hi Basschatters...first time post here
I've started to put a new project together from my previous band - (got tired of looking for one that fitted).
Currently, there are 4 of us. 2 very talented young female vocalists, drums, and keyboards and we are now looking for a bass player to enhance this line-up and see how that sounds. We all live in the Stamford / Grantham/ Peterborough area and of course age and gender is immaterial. Us Musos (should that be we Musos - who knows) are good at our thing and have been playing for plenty of years; we're over 40 the singers are under 20. If after evaluating our sound it becomes clear that a guitarist would enhance things and we all agree that it is the right thing to do, then there are some very talented guitarists who would be happy to join us but initially we would like to see what this sound is like as I think giving the bass total freedom may make for something quite unique and really enjoyable – but we’ll have to see. Either way I would like the bass to play a key part in our final sound.
We've looked at what we would like to; kicked a few suggestions around, tried out a few ideas and some things look promising.

We’ve also a couple of originals that are not at all bad. So, bit of a mix there but then we're still looking for our sound and don’t want to get pigeonholed too early ...and here's a chance to get in and start influencing things with us from the start
So we need everything from slow blues to walking jazz bass lines to more contemporary stuff. Plenty of scope for you to get a signature bass sound into it.
I still have a little potential work with my original line-up such as an event at Leeds Uni and the local music festival later this year, plus one or two other interesting bits and pieces but there’s a whole lot more to this than just playing music. I really would like to get settled with a good group of people who don’t want to rehearse to death but do want to do something they are proud of and have a really good time doing it. To us, this is for the buzz and the fun and the way we all gel and get on is every bit as important as what and how we play. So we’re looking for someone who’s easy going, wants to pitch in and share the workload, doesn’t have a huge ego, enjoys the coffee and cakes at rehearsals, respects the abilities of the others and wants to work together as a peer. It’s all about mutual respect.
Well that’s more than enough from me even I‘m getting bored now: If all this sounds at all interesting then please get in touch.
