Aha...they would explain it. I can’t blame them. I was asked a million times in my last job to provide test access for people doing comparisons, quality checks etc etc. Most were not really serious about it.

Thank you, @danny-79 The MXR cables i use are on neither list but they serve me well. 6" long, flat plugs.

Could you provide a summary? I hate to sound like a modern-day moron, but I don't have 35 minutes. I can actually focus for that long, but I will not have that much uninterrupted time for a while!

£370 preorder from Andertons. I bought the v1 for £170 new here and it sounds great - it gives a lift to my sound. Taking how I was before as 100, I am now at 125. Annoyingly, this makes me even more interested in v2!

Here’s mine. Wireless> Comp > BBOD > Thumpinator > Tuner > MXR Bass Distortion > MXR Chorus > Bass Preamp and out to desk and/or amp. I picked up a Mesa Subway DI today, so some changes on the way. Perhaps even a new board?

There will not be an advance preorder...the prices are ludicrous. Also, the price of the first version has dropped to about £180 new locally...that is what they go for secondhand, so I might have to take them up on that offer!

I have read the thread on TB and have even stronger GAS. I foresee an advance order in my future!

$379 from Mesa's shop in Hollywood, compared to $329 for the standard Subway preamp.

http://mesaboogie.com/amplifiers/bass/preamplifier-series/subway-bass-di-preamp-plus/index.html I have been holding off on buying a Subway preamp as I had suspected that they would be launching a new version. What are your thoughts on this? It looks like the Subway Plus amp in a pedal which is exactly what I was expecting and awaiting. There is also a new Subway amp with a valve preamp stage that is tempting something rotten, even though I love my GK amp and only ever play live either DI or through the house amp (and then DI).

Hmm. My suggestions would have been Death and Cynic, but you are already aware of them! Thanks for Spiral Architect. I shall check out more of them. Obscura, too.

Singer in my band is a bit like this. He cannot seem to learn the structure of the songs nor the lyrics of the covers we play. He will come in early - sometimes even between the 3 and 4 - with what should be the second line of the verse. It is a real challenge to keep up. He has been given a strong warning that he will be out if he doesn’t shape up. But with a gig booked for 1st December, we don’t have time to find a replacement and will run the risk of repeating our last gig, where the crowd looked perplexed as he was singing line 2 where he should have sang line 1 and so on.

Klarna is an invoice company. The seller is paid, Klarna take on the debt and invoice the client. It means companies who cannot afford to extend credit can do so. I know a few people who work there. They are either saviours or parasites, depending on your opinion. They are fully above board, though, so fear not.

I keep looking at the Subway Pre. It ticks a lot of boxes. They have an acoustic preamp with a few more features; I might hang on until Namm to see if they launch a bass version of it. If not, the Subway will probably be joining the fold.

Too loud or not, that rig looks lovely.

I’m still super keen on an ebony ES-355. Gibson. With an ebony fingerboard. I don’t care that it costs £2k more than an ES-335 and £3,500 more than an Epiphone. It is not going to happen for years.

Great stuff. Thanks!

That looks mighty tasty, @jacko Any chance of a pic of the pedalboard, too?
