As above, I bought an old 5er at a great price to see if I liked it. I did and then went on to buy a good one later. Had it not worked out, I would have been down £150 (less what I would have got for the bass). No regrets...I later sold my 4-string basses except my first one.
I thought Islington was supposed to be deepest red!
But mix that in with champagne yellow and cocaine white, surely the bass's colour is close enough?

I'll chip in here. I have had one dealing with Jauquo and he was not a cock at all; his mate was selling an Ibanez SR1206 and he put us in contact with each other and now I have the 6-string version of my beloved 5-string bass. On the subject of the basses, though...I can appreciate that some people might enjoy the 15-string bass, but it looks unwieldy to me. Even Jauquo is having a hard time playing it in that video (or is it just me?). On the other hand, the twin-neck looks more practical - I can see that if you play 7-string that you might like one fretted and one fretless, so it makes sense to have both options on the same instrument. I would not say that having one makes you a plonker. Aesthetically, though, I find it an affront to good taste.

I had hum on my board. I hate to say it, but it was the Johnny Shredfreak power supply. I removed the buzz with the gate on my rack compressor.

What a great time! We delivered the goods, and the goods were 2½ hours of live music. My fingers are sore as hell right now.

Just got home after a spell in London. Flew with British Airways there and back with my backup Ibanez in a gigbag. Stockholm to London - made sure I was one of the first on the plane. I asked to put it in the cupboard at the front. Crew seemed bewildered, but let me do it. No problems. London to Stockholm - I was asked at Heathrow to get on the plane first, but was told I would have to have my bass put in the hold. "Basses don't survive in the hold," I said, "but pushchairs do," I added, motioning to the six or so pushchairs also getting on the plane. She said she would do what she could. I go down to the plane where I tell the crew that I have been told to have it put in the hold. I express my concern; the achingly beautiful stewardess puts it in the cupboard. "There, now it won't be smashed in the hold." I have always considered British Airways to be good. They state on their website that a "guitar-shaped instrument" can go on the plane and not count as part of your hand luggage allowance.

I find that the busier I am playing music, the less busy I am looking at basses and parts etc. For example, last summer, both bands took a break. I ended up buying two basses.

This drummer is at the right gig!!! And, for the record, I found it very interesting music. The kind of stuff you want to have on before you go off to do battle with the Visigoths.
Hi guys im looking for a replacement bridge for my 6 string, the string spacing id 16 and a half ". brrn hsving trouble pin pointing a brdifge that will fit. looking to spend no more than a tonne
ABM and Hipshot do 6 string bridges at varying widths. I bought an ABM for my Ibanez which also has 16.5mm spacing. I bought mine from Pitch Perfect Music on Ebay. They are in the States, but I had a mate out there bring it over for me. It's an excellent bridge.

I have one of these - I used to have a Marshall stack and used this to get decent tones out of it without breaking windows. I sold the stack but kept my PowerBrake - they are (I believe) not made any more and there was no way I was going to get rid of mine in case I could not replace it! Bump & a recommendation for these excellent units! Great price, too!

My main band Metal Liquor is playing at the Motorcycle Garage in South Örebro, yes the place which used to be called something beginning with M until recently. My other band, Rockpigs, is supporting. Metal Liquor play 80s thrash - our setlist for this evening is Metallica, Misfits, Megadeth and Slayer. Rockpigs play rock covers, everything from Kiss to Lenny Kravitz. Please click the link in my signature below and "like" Metal Liquor. More info about the gig is in there. Two and a half hours of live music for a measly 50kr! Hope to see as many people as possible on the 30th April!!!

Official blurb:
Ibanez LU20 Digital Chromatic Tuner Pedal Yes, people have been asking for one for some time. And yes, it took Ibanez some time to come out with their first pedal tuner. They think youll find it was worth the wait. Ibanezs first stompbox format tuner with true bypass switching will floor youand get you in tune in no time flat. Tuner out and dry out Fully chromatic Durable and roadworthy Flat and Calibration buttons.
Truth: Excellent tuner pedal with true bypass. It has two outputs - one which mutes your signal when the tuner is on, the other which doesn't. Genuine true bypass - I tested it without a battery. Tunes down to B, but freaked out when I tried to tune lower than that. Combined with the fact that I wanted one which was vertical rather than horizontal, this is why I am selling it. Battery included! Box included! Not a scratch on it! Retails at £50 from Nevada. Best price I have seen in the UK is £40 excluding postage. Get a STONKING BARGAIN here!!! Link to manual here. Stock picture: I can provide actual pics if required. This will be posted (assuming someone buys it) after 15th April from the UK. Added 9/6/11 - sold locally. Thanks for your interest!

No but yes but no. No: my bass hero was Cliff Burton, but I bought an Ibanez PJ bass in 1992 because it was cheap and available. But yes: I am currently building a white Jazz bass like Tommy Shannon's early 1960s one. But no: it's going to be a 5-string.
