1.
I've an Ibanez DWB3 (black stained no longer awful orange !) with 18v & EMG's .. nice fast neck like SR series .. for sale .. £400 !!
Ooh...I would, but I'm only doing 5 strings right now.

2. I like the EMG sound too. I have a BQC in my Ibanez (neck-through, mahogany and maple) with EMG 40DC in the bridge and 40CS in the neck. I find that the preamp is great - really, really, really, really great - but the 40DC is harsh and I am considering swapping it for something else. I also mostly play hard rock and metal.

3. Hmm. I'll go along. It's just that it's a line I've seen in corporate rejection letters..."thanks for your application, but the company has decided it wants to continue looking..." That sort of thing. It seemed a little odd to hear back from them.

Thanks for the tips - I'll edit the title as this sudden attack of confusion is pretty much over. Besides, it's not as if anyone will die if I take a few minutes to respond to a text message!

4. Hi

I had an audition the other day for a band. It went well and I thought it would be good. They had a couple of other guys trying out. The guitarist told me that he hoped that the others would be no good, as I would fit in well. However, a couple of days later, he said that the other bassists were not up to snuff but that the other chaps in the band "wanted to try out some more bassists". I interpreted this as a brush off.

Just received a message asking whether I can come to a rehearsal on Wednesday.

So...what the hell is going on? Do they want me because they want me, or because they don't want everyone else? Do I go along or not?

5. Still feeling a bit sore from a recent unsuccessful audition, I'd like a bit more talent. If that's not possible, I'd like more quality time in the day for practice. As is stands now, I'm lucky to get an hour of unzombie time each evening.

But for gear, I'd like an upgrade to my amp stack. So, GK 700RB and a 1x15 to match my 2x10 would be nice.

6.
EMG BTC-system 2 band EQ (blend, vol, concentric bass/treble) complete (knobs, allen key, instructions) and boxed - £50 NOTE: vol/blend part of BTC system for EMG pickups only - can use the EQ circuit with your own vol/blend arrangements for other pickups
If the person who gets this is not interested in the vol/blend bit, I am!!!

7. It's back up for sale. It will be going up on Ebay at some point soon, so get in there now!

Original post (with new price put in and some other stuff taken out to avoid confusion)

Hello

With heavy heart, it's time to move this one on.

This is a Warmoth creation which I made earlier this year [2009]. I spared no expense at all on it, and I am too ashamed to say just how much I put into this project.

The basics:
Warmoth Strat body, arctic white, rear routed, alder
Warmoth Strat neck with '59 Roundback shape, maple with ebony 'board, 22 stainless steel jumbo frets, satin finish
Original Floyd Rose, black
EMG 81/85 with metal surrounds
Volume and tone for each pickup (tones are on a concentric pot)
3-way switch
Black hardware

The upgrades:
18v EMG wiring
Huge brass sustain block in FR trem
ESP Arming Adjuster to stabilise the Floyd Rose

The bad bits:
Tiny ding on front, below trem
Small chip in recessed cavity for the trem on the corner
Guitar needs a good setup
There is a high fret (not seated properly) around the 19th fret area which needs fixing

The tone is, as expected, cutting and very, very much suited to metal. The neck is easy to play - not thin like standard shredmonsters, not huge either. Just perfect.

Pic:

As said above, I put a huge amount of money into this. The guitar is a dream to play, but it is surplus to requirements and is gathering dust.

8. Balls - that's not what we want to hear!

I hate to admit it...my first thought on reading "Richard Bona again, Chris Wolstenholme again [...] Mark Bedford (hurrah!) and Horace Panter" was "who?" - I honestly have no idea who any of them are. Wolstenholme and Bedford ring a bell, but if you put a gun to my head I still wouldn't be able to say who they are, played with or play for now.
