1.
Why not sell all three, and buy a leftie P bass. If you do the job yourself you could balls it up, If someone does it for you it will cost
yup thats the best idea methinks
 2. Yea it is a weird count like a lot of stranglers songs, you can get cues by listening to the drums for a lot of them, especially live
 3. I only get it right cos i play it at every gig and i've been listening to it since 1977..
 4. Your'e the 3rd person to say that so very promising thanks Andy
 5.
Paul why on earth are you playing up that end in a punk band (assuming this is with Scam?) Get back to open E or A immediately, the problem will then be solved!
smash it up by the damned is a good example, its octave jumps on the G then over to the C, the 5th fret of g string is hardly audible, its a tad better if i go up to 8th fret.. Also shot by both sides with that funny scale that goes right up the uncomfortable end. Plus a few others.. Cheers Lozz
 6.
Ok, so here's the 'big' rig. Tend to only use the 2x15 indoors and 2x18 outdoors but one day I'll just take the bloody lot and sod the back row!!
Woow ee i love it

 9.
I use compression to combat this, the cheap and easy way out
Which pedal mate ?
 10.
Heh heh, it will be like a couple of duvets and a mattress have been taken off the front of your rig, or you've had a serious ear syringing.....
I sure hope so simon, cant wait..
 11. Lawrence and Simon... As soon as i've tried it i'll let you know, sounds promising as you both sound pretty sure.
 12.
Been practising a stranglers song the last few nights, and through my pf 500 with headphones it sounds very authentic (p bass almost full treble and pick) but I imagine when I go to the band run through with a cab it wont sound as good.
which song lojo?
 13. Done some dates with the heep 10 odd years ago in Germany, Mick Box= smashing bloke, Bassist was also smashing, none other than Trevor Boulder (Bowie) .. As if you didnt know.
 14.
Make sure those markbass filters are off - the VPF particularly! Off is fully anticlockwise, NOT 12 o clock. The VPF filter cut sits right around the first harmonics of the upper string upper notes, too much of that and it'll suck the volume right out.
cheers lawrence, yea both filters are set at 12 o.clock, ill try that thanks
 15. Think maybe i'll get to next gig half hour early and have a good fiddle with my eq settings, Thanks for the replies chaps
 16.
Does this happen with either cab or only with both cabs?
I havent used a single cab for years so not sure matey, i use both whatever venue size
 17.
How low is your action?
Low low.. Not done by me tho' i use a pretty good luthier
 18.
Is it just the one bass you get this with - have you tried another?
No mate, seems to be the same with 3 or 4 basses
 19.
How old are the strings?
Strings are 6 months old approx
 20. Have they got many left handers in there did anybody notice?
 21. Hi mate, always a pick with this band, cabs, 1 4x10 and 1 1x15 not thru p.a, mainly a usa p bass with tone and vol right up. And no monitors Cheers
 22. Hi all, The higher i play on the D and G strings especially, the quieter the notes are , if i'm past the 12th fret on the g string its like im not playing, ive ignored it for ages but the drummer mentioned it at last gig so here i am, i'm guessing its eq but i have upped the mids?? ..i play through a markbass 600w head and sometimes thru a sansamp bass driver.. Its the same with all my basses?? Thanks in advance chaps Paul
 23.
There's a nice-looking Ricky copy on ebay right now. No idea if value is accurate but seller seems open to contact.
Yea i just see that.. Dont look arf bad
 24.
I have been told that I have to go record two guide tracks this evening at 8:30 and that I have 45 minutes. I don't have my bass with me (Why would I, I am at work). Its a 40 mile round trip in rush hour to go get it, so the engineer is lending me a Stagg (*shudder*). I know it is just a guide track, but ffs.
Last time i used a stagg one of the tuning keys fell off so good luck there..
 25. Anyway i'm not playing cos i love precisions and you're all slagging them orf
