1. Why can you find a decent stockist of their range? I mean, you can find a few things here or there, but nowhere that sells their fullish range. Hell, ive just come across these basses on their website (JHS.co.uk), and cant find any anywhere besides their site, from which a list of dealers are given, which dont really have any of the stock in. This is the bass in question Also, i want to try and get those pickups, as they are a copy of the delanos, but google reveals pretty much nothing besides their JHS site. What gives? Just weird how they're not that advertised.
2. Okay, so heres a few things that ive gathered that i no longer require, and i would prefer coins to their presence. I am open to trades for other parts, but cash is the preferred. Feel free to make offers too, i probably wont be insulted haha. Free postage on all this too. All stuff shows signs of wear as per usual, and are for 4 string basses, and come without screws unless specified otherwise. So here we go..... EMG EXB - £35 - Basically a single active tone pot. As you turn it, you are effectively turning up the bass and treble, and reducing the mids. Basically what you do to get a badass slap tone. Says so on their website. This is an older version, from the 90's i believe, and as such doesnt look like their current models, and is minus the kwik connect. Pics Wilkinson massively adjustable bridge - £30 - This bridge has all the adjustment a bassist like you can require. It can for forwards, backwards, left, right, up, AND down. But seriously, it can adjust to any string spacing you need. Hell, you can choose 2 different place on the same saddle to mount your string from, and its also a quick release one, meaning no faffing round with the curled strings ends getting forced through a hole. 5. Bought this as a "working" bass bout a year ago, but havent needed it, so ive not worked on it. Basically, the neck is a bit sh*te, so it needs its frets levelling to make it better. I made a purpleheart bridge for it (made a build thread too), but ive got other projects i want to finish now. I was going to turn it into a sort of semi acoustic bass with real pickup and vol/tone control, none of this preamp business. Tuners work, ill also include the preamp that i took out of it. Based in New Brighton, Wirral, open to trades for pretty much anything music-y. Pics, and a video (posted later) of me playing it...... Pics:
6. So here is my attempt at parting together a bass to make up for my lack of a real vintage G&L SB1 bass, as per red fang. But i need money more than i need a tribute so it needs to go. The bass itself comprises of: -Unbranded body, unknown wood, with possibly a nitro finish. -Encore neck, with rosewood truss slot cover on the back of the neck, vintage tint and bullet truss rod.. -Unknown origin Precision pickup, with alnico magents (no magnet bar on bottom) -Unknown origin black bridge -Original tuners, really good and keeping tune# -Epiphone neck plate -Self made black scratchplate. The bass itself sounds ace, proper precision tone, I will includ a link of me playing it once its uploaded to youtube, which is a bit sloppy in some places. There are a few minor issues with the bass as far as i can see: -one is that because the bridge is non original, i wasnt able to mount it precisely anough, and the stings dont go exactly over the poles of the pickups, which can be fixed by getting a new pickguard or repositioning the bridge, -The bass may need new strings. Well, unless you dont mind that the G string is comprised of 2 separate ones. -i reshaped the headstock to get the old G&L shape, and i may not have done it perfectly, a picture is included. Its a bit yellower than the rest, and not as shiny. -A little bit of pock marking on the body, but what do you expect..... -To get the neck to fit (it was a bit too small for the neck pocket), i used slivers of wood and then coloured them in to mostly match the sunburst. Open to trades and part exs, any questions, just ask. I can post, but i think its around £20-25 for that. Im based in new brighton, Wirral of you fancy a tryout or for pickup. Anyway, pics:
7. anyone here from staffordshire wanna collect the bass and send it to chaypup?
8. Its my old band, by the name of selfish lovers. https://www.facebook.com/SelfishLoversBand?fref=ts I left them as i was in another band which i prefer the music of (hard rock). They have at least 20 original tracks, of which about 12-15 are recorded in some state, to which i would be able to help with teaching the basslines to if needed. Ideally need to be a quick learner. They can be contacted via the FB page, or myself. Any more info, let me know. Tom
9. Hey dude. You bought this from me. The input and output business is so that you can use the preamp like an pedal, so you can see how it sounds on different basses. Just plop a battery in, and youre ready to go.
10. any chance of a lighter picture to see more of the front detail?
11. I didnt even know this kinda bass existed. Im highly tempted. Anyone got any sound sample? Lookin at you flateric......
12. Never, literally ever, seen one of these. I like the fact its uses the same pickup layout http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Very-Rare-Vintage-6-String-Music-Man-StingRay-2-Guitar-Not-Bass-by-Leo-Fender-/321478195841
13. Got this guitar in a trade for a bass as i was curious as to how it sounded mainly. Sounds badass, but not my kind of badass. So the guitar is in excellent condition. It comes with the active preamp which has an active passive switch; bass/treble knob (roll towards which you want more of), single coil/humbucker switch; 3 way selector ala a les paul and volume. Admittedly, i dont know what the third switch does, so whatever, its there. Its strung with light strings, and has a pretty low action. Tuners work perfectly etc. So, for sale at £120. Im always open to trades for basses/equipment etc. Try me out. Im based in new brighton on the wirral. I may ship, but will be extra. Pics:
