  1. Still available, and will be at the Merseyside guitar show on the 25th November.
  2. Looks like it could be a cheap set. Nearly all the aftermarket pickups you can get are always magnetic pole pieces. The ones with a bar magnet under them are cheaper to make.So it could have come from China, a squier, or someone's spares box. Unless there's any markings on them, I doubt they will be a decent aftermarket set.
  3. i'd always go the 72 pickguard. Its a fabulous shape.
  4. My one tiny buggear about it is no 3 point neck plate, but that came out as a solution to poor production, so i guess this wont need it.
  5. Those guys at limelight do some of the best stuff i've seen
  6. How good is the BMP-1 on bass?
  7. Its in the binding, so it would leave a noticeable missing bit if you sanded it out. Well, probably not from audience distance.
  8. Where did you get the body again? And looks brilliant.
  9. The headstock is an amazing focal point.
  10. I was just about to say that. Looks like he wanted either WAL level electronics or an RD artist sort of level.
  11. That crack seems to happen to a few of their basses. It looks like it happens when the bass falls forward and its head stock catches something. I think, unless anyone has seen something else cause it. I repaired one by squirting wood glue into the crack, then clamping it shut for a day. Then i sanded it down to respray it (it was a translucent cherry red, hard to match). But i ended up selling to a mate who wasnt bothered by it.
  12. Ah balls, i was going to see if you were up for a trade, but then you're in the Netherlands. Ive never seen one before, but it looks amazing, a really nice take on the Jazz.
  13. Surely if its tight enough the neck should be fine. I think they buy the parts in so it could be a manufacturing error. Personally, its not something that would worry me. I'd have to have a superbly trained ear to spot a difference. Love those Limelights.
  14. Its the sunburst one. I know i wont capture the entire look, but i do enjoy chrome covers on things. I've found a source for them, a chap called Dason Scott who make them, but theyre $65 per cover (bridge and neck), so i may not get one for a while.
  15. Brad over at http://www.lowecustomguitars.com sells 33" conversion necks for those interested, or 32" i think.
  16. The quarter pounders, in my experience, sound darker than most pickups, which are good for an agressive tone. But wilkinson do very good mid range pickups too, i've been impressed by the ones i've used, and you can always sell them on for similar money if they don't work. Id also recommend the KiOgon loom if you're not great with electrics as his work is always top notch.
  17. I was going to mention that that style sunburst generally hides a plywood body, but Bassassin seems to be more knowledgeable on the matter. As has been mentioned, if it plays well, and sounds good, £50 is a deal!
  18. As said, if you're botheredness is more than your love for it, return it. Otherwise, if you wish to keep it, get some wet and dry, and you'll be able to take it out. Maybe ask for a set of pickup covers, or money off a set of strings for it. Unless you go to them willing to return the bass for the flaw, you'll probably not get anything.
  19. Can you point me to where you bought it? The bridge cover is easy, but the neck one not so much.
  20. It sounds a beast, which is my favourite part about it. Did you return it, or just buy two then? Anyone know where to get a neck pickup cover though? I'm trying to go bicentennial
