1. preventing the strap coming coming off. Just as a set of straplocks does. but i dont buy straplocks. Normally just use bottletops. but i wanted to try something different with this one. the tape is rubbish though, and it keeps peeling off.
2. Its alright chaps. The almighty roland rock has sent me a nice little tupperware tub of the stuff. It should do nicely. Cheers everyone!

7. Yeah, thats the original epiphone bridge that came with it. Pickup selection is close. It actually: -bridge and middle in series -all three in series -middle and neck in series The pickup selector was designed to give humbucking options in all positions.
8. Epiphone G3 modded reissue[s] £320[/s] [s]£300[/s] £275 This bass i got from a member here to fix up into a copy of the original G3 bass. I can safely say it has worked. Sounds immense. Just like longview. So anyway, the bass has 3 NOS G3 pickups, and the controls as the original - 3 way selector, vol, tone. The scratchplate is made by the awesome bassdoc. Ill also include the original pickups and scratchplate. They can be switched over with no noticable cosmetic difference. Just need to desolder the bridge ground wire. The build diary is in the build diary section. Maple body, i believe, with maple neck and fingerboard, along with pearloid inlays. Strap included. Any questions, feel free to ask. Pictures commencing: Original layout new Layout Under the hood Trades considered, but cash preferred. Also i would prefer a collection, but posting and meeting up are both options here.
9. Homemade unfinished active bass [s]£130[/s] £120 Here we have an unfinished project that i cant get round to completing as i dont really want it anymore as my music playing style has evolved. Basically, what you're buying here is a vehicle for 2 bartolini soapbar pickups, a spector tonepump preamp and a neck and the hardware. The bass is all wired up, and sounds pretty badass. Its got a 2 band spector tonepump preamp, volume, blend, 24 frets, and is entirely my own design. I wanted a project that would use the rest of a short piece of yellow pine lumber i had lying around. If you wanted to get it going, all you would need is to paint it and make a control cavity cover for the rear. there is also a little split in the wood where one of the pickups screws into, but a touch of glue could sort that. I just dont have the effort in me to do. It sounds pretty darn good, but would need new strings as these are quite dead at the moment. Very activey. So thats about it. Of course, here are the pictures of it: I am of course open to trades, but would prefer cash, and also prefer collection, or a drive and meet somewhere type thing.
10. Pimped Sonderberg MM copy bass [s]£170[/s] £150 So, this bass. I bought from a member here a while ago as i was after a MM. However, things are not what they seem with this bass. Its not just any ordinary copy. Under the hood is an original MM pickup, and a john east MMSR 2 band EQ. These retail at £107 alone. Along with those, you get these neat machineheads, with real 50p keys, worth £2 alone. (the originals with the bass were made of a poor copper material and soon rounded). I also installed a battery hole on the rear, with a home made battery cover for a more authentic look. The only real problem is that the machineheads arent properly aligned, so look a bit wonky, and that the scratchplate isnt cut properly and it could do with a new one. But rest assured, the stingray sound is all there as far as i can remember what my old ray sounded like. Currently strung with GHS flea sig strings. I also took the gloss off the back of the neck so its smooth. fairly fat neck too, fatter than a P neck. The action is set quite low too. And here are the pictures too. So there we go. Im open to trades, but would prefer money. and I can post, but would prefer a pickup or meet and swap. Any questions, dont hesitate to ask.
11. Back on the market Ibanez Soundgear SR300 bass [s]£170[/s] £150 here we have a lovely bass. Sounds like an amazing active bass. That punch you are looking for is in this bass. It also has the thinnest neck ive ever played. it just feels awesome. However, ive shifted the style of music i play, so i dont really need it anymore. Ill also include the strap. If you're worried about problems with the finish, then there is only one. A tiny little 2mm by 2mm nick on the front below the neck pickup. The bridge is a bit tarnished as well, some dark spots on it. The specs are: Lightweight, balanced, comfort-contoured body Active EQ's perfectly matched with the right choice of pickups 5pc SR4 Maple neck Agathis body Rosewood Fingerboard Scale 864mm/34 inch Width at Nut 38mm 24 Medium frets Sealed die cast tuners Chrome hardware B100 adjustable bridge (19mm string spacing) EXF-4F Neck Pickup EXF-4R Bridge Pickup Equaliser: Style Sweeper 3-band eq Volume, Style Sweeper, Balancer and Treble/Bass Boost/Cut controls And of course, pictures Pic of the tarnishing Im also open to trades too, but ideally cash. Also, i'd prefer pickup, or a drive-meet type thing. I can post at a push though.
12. that stuff is too coarse for my use. Im after the stuff left over from when sanding. @dingus. i could, but it would take too long, and i dont really want to as it would turn me into a sandstorm. Last time that happened, well, you've seen spiderman......
13. I was basically routing around a pickup hole to make room for a sunken pickup cover to lie flat with the surface. But its quite rough. About 5mm all around and about 3mm deep. I was planning on making a larger pickguard to completely cover it anyway, but just so when i took it off, it would look alright.
14. I'm building a bass at the moment, and ive done a bit of routing where i needent have. So im wondering if anyone out there has a big ol pile of dust from sanding some light coloured wood? The bass is ash, so anything in that colour region would be awesome. About a cupful would be idea, as it would be stored for later use. But anything round a handful would be well appreciated. Ive had a look around ebay for this sanding dust and come up short, and ive had a go at wood filler, but its not that great. Cheers Chaps.
15. i have one. There is no problem at all. People used to do it all the time in the 50's and 60's. Enjoy the thumpy sound!
