  1. I personally wouldnt mind having one, as i like to use a looper pedal and not having to change guitars would be awesome. I had a mazeti one a while ago, it was a 7/5 string one with a floyd rose. It was massivly heavy, but awesome to play, and got a ton of looks from people as i was taking it to the music shop to sell. Ive seen a few people make them from chopping up a squier strat and P bass and sticking them together. With regards to makes, rickenbacker made one a few years ago, and shergold did one. Charvel and washburn have had a go at doing a few too, danelectro too, and even alembic. Anyway, here are some pictures that ive collected of some awesome ones: Shergold (they actually did a detachable one too) Charvel Home made strat-p Washburn, i think A ricky Alembic And a cool looking one And heres a danelectro, hillel from chili peppers played one in the movie "thrashin"
  2. i may do. I recently played a fret king ventura bass, and now wat to get an EB0 pickup for a neck position. Plus, i used to have an EB0 eppi, and loved the sound i got.
  3. what have you done with the old pickup?
  4. for a 34" scale bass, which that one almost certainly is, its 34 inches from the nut to where the string makes contact with the bridge. As for a specific distance from the nut to the front of the bridge, you'll have to go by the saddles. When i made mine, i moved my bridge so that the 34" was to the centre of the bridge saddles when the saddles were half an inch back from their maximum forward distance. hope it helps.
  5. i reckon a headless bass shape, ala hohner headless bass would be simplest. But jazz is always a good route to go down, i think there is a guy on ebay selling routing templates for them which helps.
  6. I played one of the Fret-king ventura basses, and it sounded bloody good. But im thinking the new strings play a part, and im wondering if anyone out there knows what their standard strings that come on the bass are?
  7. these bad boys. I came across them a while ago, and havent bought anything since. They do a few thicknesses, and i think its free shipping to the UK. They're called cactus picks, because they have little "spikes" on them with are awesome to hold onto. http://www.greatbigmusic.com/shop
  8. This is his thread, so thats his username http://basschat.co.uk/topic/188918-bi-sonic-darkstar/
  9. IT LIVES!!! I got the electronics installled. and tested. Sounds cool
  10. if no one else can, i can cut some slots providing i have a template to use. But all you need are some needle files. Its an ideal thing to have a go at for a first time hobbyist.
  11. thats just simply amazing. Its awesome the way the scratchplate matches the inlays
  12. All emg's gone now. Sorry paul, none near 10k, nearest is the P in the stagg set, at 8.77k Also, resistances are added
  13. If anyone is interested, I've got one sabre preamp mounted in a box for sale in the misc section. The box is tatty, but acts as a way to use the preamp on multiple basses and can always be removed to be internalised.
  14. Sack it, ALL PRICES ARE £5 OFF LISTED PRICE (still need postage yo) Need this stuff gone really.
  15. The 3 emg's are on Ebay nao! Squier tuners have had interest, but no payment as of the last 2 days. Nothing definitely gone.
