Bit of wear from playing, but still awesome. A little very worn spice girl sticker on the rear. £130 Buy my thing. You want this thing. Its better than the thing you have. So, your money should be with me while this thing becomes your thing. With regards to postage, i will post but Id prefer to meet up somewhere though. Message to arrange something.
5. You could just go for the classic bridge (well, the nowadays common bridge) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHROME-4-String-BASS-GUITAR-BRIDGE-FOR-MUSIC-MAN-Style-Guitar-New-/270981819531?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item3f17c66c8b
6. forstenered the rest of the control cavity to remove material, as i dont like using the router to just remove material, more for polishing. Once i finished routing the control cavity, i stuck some bits of dowel for screw points for the cover, and for something else too.... i made a miscalculation when routing the control cavity, so i accidently removed part of the pickup route. This meant that i couldnt secure one side of the pickup in place as there was no wood for it to screw into. So i shaped this bit of dowel to fit the space, and luckily, it works. Lastly, to hold the battery and preamp box, i glued in some walls, using pva+sawdust for the bottom to strengthen. Sort of inspired by a guy who routed his entire cavit, then glued in a frame with the walls for holding things, and spector, modulus, etc. And that pretty much brings us up to date. next thing to do is to make a cavity cover, then paint. but of course, im attaching everything to sound test it too.
7. Been a while so here are some updates: routed the neck pocket shaped the body contour (tried using a radiused cutting tool, but didnt work so well) Next up is the control cavity, a biggie. Start off with a 22mm forstner bit where the pots were going so i could make it about 3mm thick wood so they'd attach alright From the front And the back Next is the strat style jack plate Then the pickup routes. Forstenered every bit i could do to remove material, then routed the rest. Mostly freehand, but tried using a clamped buit of wood for the straight edges
8. whats the book about? Pictures of his basses?
9. 2 things. What oil? And why not a ricky neck pickup?
10. i want the "sabre" necks from the MM basses mainly, as it would be a lot easier to throw in on my project.
11. Well im pretty sure barts have copper shielding on the bottom of the pickup, but mostly serial number/id. If not on top, most always underneath.
12. The hell, they have a herfner 6 string beatle bass!! http://thetopguitars.com/products/6-Strings-Violin-Electric-Guitar-Black.html And this!! http://thetopguitars.com/products/Custom-Shop-2012-Double-Neck-4-and-12-String-Electric-Guitar-.html Is it bad to say im very tempted?
13. can you look underneath the pickup?
14. 5 options per pickup (north, south, parallel, series, our of phase), and times that by the other pickup, and again if you add another 5 way between them too.
15. That's the one. Saw it in an advert in the back of bass player. Might not be a bad idea to stock them together in op's post
16. There is a pickup out there with a dual mm pickup all as one piece, but actually has 8 coils, and has a massive array of options. Can't remember its name though
17. Here are the pics of the model thingy from afar: And up close: Just realised that its actually a KJP-1B My bad
