    Ive just got a new neck, and one of the little front dots has cracked and came out in little pieces. Just wondering if anyone here has a few lying around i could use? It would save a fair amount to buy a full set from ebay.

    yeah. I donated a fiver after this thread. I have bought and sold stuff a fair amount. Its a lot more friendly than ebay!

    I identified it as that as the serial number is on the neckplate. I'll upload a photo of it tonight once I'm home from work. I didn't know I was the main source on the net on this bass. Kinda cool

    Looks exactly like mine. Thats what the bridge looks like under the cover. Is yours plywood? I could never find out much info about it to be honest. Kay made double basses before the 60's, ventured into electrics later, and made some cheaper basses in the 70's.

    Good luck with the truss rod routing. I had an idea to suspend it from a height with string to get the necessary curve. Hope you have a better idea.

    Well, im onto the stage where i add the bridge onto the body of my build, and im wondering is it as simple as marking out 34" from the nut to the saddles. But where about on the saddles? Anyone got some tips?

    Im after a larger rig than my current trace elliott 150 watter combo. What would be a decent amp head and cab with around 250w power, and preferably a 4x10 cab around the £500 mark all in. Im probably going to get used anyway, so i dont mind 2nd handers, or peeps pimping their for sale gear. But im not too sure what to look for, and sounds. The ashdown evo series seems alright (though i have heard some bad stories of them) Id appreciate any information you guys' collective knowledge may be able to bestow upon to me

    I suppose it's like having a passive treble boost. I get something similar by adding in my bridge humbucker set to both coils out of phase to my neck pickups. Sounds fun. May add in one to something.
