3. Ive been looking for some musicman style radio knobs, and upon finding them on a site, i find out they dont take orders below 250 units.... This is the thing in question http://www.ehcknobs.com/selector/index.php?action=step4&part=EH71-0C1S&group=c105&series=105 Anyone fancy buying 250, and selling me about 3-10 of them ?? So, that being out otherwise, anyone know of a source for some close imitations?
4. Came across this looking for guitar knobs, and its got a nice little feature on the homepage.... http://skreddypedals.com/
5. what about your fretting hand? Does the string go dead on any other basses?
6. Shot in the dark here but could it be that you ar playing the e string most with your fingers and you have some sort of detrimental acid that oozes out destroying the string sound?
7. A soldering iron should work fine, most common way to fix it. Failing that, a bit of tinfoil and lots of tape?
8. I was talking to a guy here who can do them in stainless. He may pop in soon. I can't remember his name though...
9. Pre EB musicman have that too. Another Leo project.....
10. do you have any pictures?
11. I know with harris, he uses his signature set of rotosound flats, and sticks new ones on before every show. Thats all i know, plus the precision bass too,.
12. mmm. there is a bit of forearm chamfer chompage. Like it was hit with something....
13. If you think the price is too high, let me know, and i may be able to lower it....
14. Not sure. I have one, but there is a different two band I have. We shall see.
15. Basically i had this plank of wood from a previous build which wasnt enough for a full sized (read: precision size), so i came up with a design that would maximize its yield, so i designed this shape to be used with a 24 fret neck, and some barts i got hold of from these parts. I also wanted it to have a cutout as i reckon those are pretty dam cool. So here are some starter pictures. Ill probably upload the other parts in a while if not tomorrow: My template: The plank of wood (yellow pine) Both together After the general shape has been cut out, showing the grain patterns With the template All glued together with titebond Lower view. I took a while trying to get the clamps to sit properly as they dont like slanted surfaces, so offcuts had to suffice. Got there in the end. Thats all for now........
16. So, here we have an endeavour of my mate into guitarination. He didnt like it, so besides from adding a sticker, he pretty much hasnt touched it. Its your typical squier strat, bit of a chunky neck, and a [s]bent pickup toggle switch[/s] Not anymore! [s]The volume pot is a bit crackly and iffy, so probably needs some switch cleaner[/s] New pot stuck in, so problem sorted.. One plus though, it has a lovely and unexpected flame on the neck. Sounds like a squier strat, just played it and smooth neck pickup, and cutting bridge with lovely inbetweeny thing too! Pictures: Any questions, let me know. It can be tested in the wirral area, and postage not included. Offers considered. Thanks for looking.
17. Well, my mate got this bass from another mate, and pretty much had it as an ornament as he never really played it. For the base, we have a 2001 crafted in china P bass. It sounds pretty Precision like, quite a nice surprise actually. All the parts are as you expect on the squier p bass, normal bridge, tuners, etc, and all works nicely. So, the punkification... Well, lets just show you some pictures, and yes, the strap is made from orange ducktape as well as being held on by bottle tops: So as you can see, its covered in band and miscellaneous stickers, as well as having mismatched knobs. So, if you are after a nice starter bass which you can look after and help keep its value, then this probably isnt for you, but if you are in a punky band and want something to thrash out on without worrying about damage, then i think you've found it. Price, £75 not including postage. Any questions, feel free to ask. You can try her out in the wirral area.
18. the guys at wizard do them. I think its about £30. http://www.wizardpickups.co.uk/content.asp?cpage=Repairs
19. Yeah. We traded them a while back. No worries though. I sold the 5'er soapbar/p style ones I got from you as I don't think I'd ever get a fiver to stick them into. Good lick with the sale dude.
20. These sound familiar.... Why you selling them?
21. shucks! At least thats some good customer service. Are you still getting the new one you ordered?
22. ill take a stab at rewinding it if you're up for it. Ive started on my dead dimarzio copy. Wire keeps snapping (ie, its snapped once and i've gotten annoyed at it), but i think it could work.
