1.
What about a 4 way going on-off-on-off. OR thinking. (Dunno if possible) with a resistor wired in on one setting. the 3 way with off then two differing brightness settings.
also true.
2. that could be helpful. I was wondering if something like that was possible. thanks.
3. Im making a jazz bass harness for a guy here, but im having difficulty find a 2 way rotary switch to turn his LED's on and off, while being disguised with a knob. Im not adverse to using a 3 way, but does anyone know about a 2 way?
4. that would benefit from a preamp surely!
5. I totally agree with the above. especially the 60/40 solder. It is a lot easier to use than the 99% tin stuff.
6. Id happily do that for you if no one more qualified is able to. at the moment all i wire are my own guitars and basses.
7. Check out the band "Anouk" I came across them on last fm while using the term "funk rock" Specifically The dark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=483d50h5HH0
8. I checked with wizard, and while they do have MM type, he said they dont do sabre ones. Looks like my search continues.
9. Sorry about being a bit vague. Im more on about places like thomann that stock a range of pickups. Ideally, im trying to find a set of pickups that are MM shaped, with no exposed polepieces. But in general, if im looking at some pickups, the only places i can think of are Ebay or thomann. Thanks for the wizard suggestion though.
10.
I've got a covered one bought cheap from ebay - put into the 5-string fanned fret bass i put together a few years ago, just checked the resistance, it's about 4.3k! You want it? Send me a pm Note: mine has no 4-conductor wiring, just earth and live; with this resistance it may just be a single coil in a plastic shell...
Im looking for some for a 4 stringer, but thanks anyway.
Yeah, isn't it the inductance that's more important than resistance?
yeah, but if resistance is hard to find, inductance is nigh on impossible. I was looking at an EMG mm hz, but even they dont have a resistance value.
11. Im looking for some pickups for my next project, but i dont really know of any decent places online to get pickups, besides ebay. Anyone got any ideas or sites to help a fella out?
12. Sounds like a good deal dude, but i'm after ones with no exposed polepieces. And theyre quite hard to find, especially if you want to know the resistance
13. sounds like what i was thinking is about right then.
14. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310369472797?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619#ht_1558wt_1396 i came across them while looking for a pickup for a new project of mine. Im wondering as i would love to know their resistance before i commit to buying them. Ive asked the seller, and they dont have a multimeter to check So if anyone can tell me, that would be fantastic.
15. I agree with lawrence. When i had a massive blister on my middle finger, my ring subbed in and was fine, cept it was unused, so it ended up with a blister too.
16. i dont think my ears are trained for such a thing, but i think the nut is more slippery when tuning and what not.
17. I made my own a few months ago using a dremel mostly. its quite easy. Here is my build thread on it. I also built another one for my jazz since then. And i used an old cow bone that my mates dog let me have http://basschat.co.uk/topic/138446-homemade-bass-bone-nut/
18. on the body, is the route for the neck pickup a swimming pool, or pickup size?
19. Ive got a lovely jazz a few months ago, and i think the only thing its missing is a bound and blocked neck. If i have that done, i know it would look perfect. So does anyone here know where i can get this job performed? also, pic of it, cos why not.
20. I seem to have acquired these cables from a friend, however, i have less than no use for them. One is a van damme cable, one is a klotz, and the third has no name, and all three have neutrik jacks on them. If someone has some sort of decent classic 1/4 to 1/4 instrument jack, i would be well chuffed to trade for these. PM me with offers, and depending on what you have to offer affects how many of these cables you get from me (ie, 1 good cable from you = 1 of these. 1 amazing = 2 . 1 fantabbydozy = all three) also now for sale. £7 inc p&p for the two named, £5 inc p&p for the no-name.
21. i have a large favour to ask anyone with one of the amazing sabres in this awesome thread. Would you possible trace the body on some paper and send that piece of paper to me? Since i am currently too poor to buy a real one, i want to have a go at making my own. PM me if you can please.....
22. use a bit of twine to make sure the strings are ligned up properly, as well as putting the bridge far back enough to be able to intonate it without any problems
