1. This one looks pretty close too
2. This came up in my saved searches a few days ago. I was wondering about it too.
3. I know a few people (other forumites) who have them and love them. Squier seems to be doing pretty good basses at them moment.
4. Squier jazz is a good bet. A PJ pup combo will help get you there too.
5. Pretty much any jazz should fit. I fyou like the mark hoppus, try some seymour duncans in there.
6. Bam. Below is normal wiring on the jazz. Does sound strange... Did it work properly when you used to use it, or while in storage did someone mess with the wiring to mess with your head?
7. ASK IN THE FOR SALE FORUMS. THEY ARE FOR THIS PURPOSE EXACTLY
8. You sure its a bass skype lesson you're wanting to record?
9. I think my favourite album of theirs is One hot minute. Funky man!
10. Blackeyed blonde!
11. I thought this thread was about ritter..... And that dude seems to like carl thompsons designs. And also VERY reasonable. Most of them are the same price as a new MM stingray....
12. i think the older one may have alnico magnets, the newer may have neo's. Im not sure though.
13. How big is the brass insert if ya dont mind me asking?
14.
I could take pics of my own if you'd like. What details do you need to know like?
Just a couple pictures, like a picture of it out of the hole, next to the hole, the hole in the bridge for it, close up of the brass insert. Im just a curious fellow.
15. You know of any pictures? Any details into the process?
16. Crappy pot then, replace.
17. I am unable to come up with an answer. I cant find it from any of the usual suspects of that shape, Ibanez, yamaha, washburn, stagg....
18. If you're planning on taking it apart, can you show some pictures of the 2 side posts on the bridge. I have no idea of why they are there. Or if anyone can answer that for me, id be grateful, as im not sure if those posts are massive screws, or simply decorative.
19. does it *click* when you go to zero?
20.
Ah, but then the sweet spot is always moving so then it's sweet spots, lots of different sweet spots. Frank.
Well, on a stingray, the pickup is in the "sweet spot" to get the best tone when playing whatever note. Its referred to by the pickup, not the sweet spot of the note.
21.
I've often wondered about pickup positions. Especially when people talk about the "sweet spot" for a Stingray or similar. Surely all this changes as soon as a fretted note is played? The higher up the neck you play the more the effect is. Am I missing something? Frank.
Id assume the sweet spot refers to how good the pickup sounds in its position on all strings in all positions.
22. I started using old hose pipe for a "spring" . Although i think 1" rubber hosing is supposed to be better. Old hose pipe for me is better than rolled up cardboard. Springs are too bouncy.
23. The HB seems like a great candidate for a neck pickup.
24. I want this one.
25.
Thanks for this. I'm considering bunging a lipstick (guitar) pickup in that Ryder P that I got a coupe of weeks back, but wasn't sure how it would sound. Still thinking about it, but any routing could be easily hidden with a new PG if it didn't work out.
I did a similar thing with my Squier P. I kinda messed the install up, routed the hole too big, couldnt adjust it properly, and it got in the way of slapping. Sounded good with finger mode. I ended up taking it out, selling it, and replaced my battered PG. Now it looks like this
