1. Congrats on your incoming SG Std. Bass.
2. Rosewood on my 4003, and Am. Std. Fretless Jazz. Maple on my other Am. Std Jazz.
3. The one gripe about the SG Std., The Neck Dive Of Death. They play good however.
4. I have the CS60's on both my Am. Std. Jazzes, and Precision. I like the sounds from them.
5. I think the RH450 is a good amp head.
6.
Nice SG! I'm not a big fan of Gibson basses but I do love a good SG, V or Explorer Here's my contribution, albeit it a six string piccolo bass tuned like a guitar...
Nice V you have Partner.
7. I chose to go back to the RH450 over other heads, because of the Real wattage @ 450, not just a rated wattage. The mute, the phones, the three memory onboard, and the Tube Tone that really gives it an Ampeg SVT-CL sound that costs less, smaller in size, and weighs 8.8 pounds, instead of the SVT-CL's 80 plus pounds @ 300 watts. 8. I'd go with the TC Electronic RH450 head. Mine powers an Ampeg Heritage SVT-410HLF, balls to the wall!
9.
It seems so... Only thing that bothers me is, that their (excellent) cabs are pretty much all 4 Ohm. That rules out driving more than one of the damn things with a typical class D amp .
Check out the TC Electronic cabs, BC series. They have a 2X12, and a 2X10 that are 8 ohms.
10. I don't know what they're going for either, but I sure like the TC Electronic RH450 powering my Ampeg Heritage SVT-410HLF cab. A versatile head, and the "Tube Tone" setting that has a real tube sound.

13. This is "Electric Lady" with a White PG, and D'Addario ETB92 Nylon Tapewounds onboard.
14.
I thought all US Standards did? My 2012 P does but 2010 Special didn't and shouldn't have done.
Am. Specials don't have rolled edges. That's one of the differences between the Am. Standard, & Am. Special. I've had several Am. Standards, and never had a problem with edges on the necks. I can't say that for Am. Specials, I never had one.
15. The reason for the GAS showed up on the 13th. I can sleep at night now.
16. That was the major reason Clarence Leo Fender designed the Precision for. To be precise on the note.
17.
You can't beat Oly white/white and maple.
No disagreements here sir. I liked the Hendrix Strat look, when I first saw Hendrix's Olympic White/White/Maple Strat in 1967. And in Miami, July of 1970.
18. I received in the Olympic White Jazz / Maple late this afternoon. The factory strings came off, the ETB92 Nylons went on. A White PG, replaced the Tort PG too. I just like Fenders with Olympic White / Maple / White PG's.
19.
Depends on the lines. On my Overwater they are all but invisible under typical stage lighting. On the Pedulla Buzz they almost glow in the dark!
I couldn't say, about my Fender. I only use it in the studios, have never played it with stage lighting. Now you have me wondering about it. 20.
Having never actually played a lined fretless, can you actually see the lines ?
Yep! The lines a there. My Am. Std. Fretless Jazz.
21. It is nice to see the exact Axe you're possibly going to order. Not as good as hands on of course. But in some cases, local shops may have one of the Axe you're interested in. And it may have some floor damage on it. I would wind up ordering one anyway, and then that was sight unseen totally. The Sweetwater Guitar Gallery works well. I should have this "Electric Lady" show up later today. The photos are from the Sweetwater Guitar Gallery.
22. I don't know how the 2014 T-Birds are, but I'm glad I did my 2014 SG Std. I like the 120th Anniversary 12th fret marker.
23. I don't look at the lines anyway. I use the neck side dots if I need to reference a neck location.
24. I keep my basses in their cases. With two dogs in the house, it's safer for everyone.
25.
wonderful looking Gibson,now I have gas,thanks
GAS is nice to spread around. I've been playing my Mabel here quite a bit. The pups on her are amazing. The best pups I can remember having on any EB/SG Std. bass in 44-45 years of playing them. Smooth playing, the Rosewood Fretboard on her is great!
