1.
TI Jazz Flats are nice, low tension flatwounds but expensive. D'addario Tapewounds are flat feeling and low tension, and I rather like them.
I agree with you on the D'Addario ETB92 Nylon Tapewound strings. I use them on my 4003 with no problems. My intonation is right on also. I love the sounds, and they don't beat up the fretboard, or frets.
2. I'm totally into the Ric now. I do believe they're like any other bass. The right strings, and amp for it, and for the player too.
3. Even with short fingers, I play the long scale cleaner. I'm locked in on long scale basses.
4. I had a few of the MB series, made in Vietnam. The sounds weren't to bad, but the quality wasn't there. The Medium Density Fiberboard didn't make it either. The speaker covers rattled, and the fan motors were way to loud.
5.
Gsgbass, what's the string tension like on these. I've got Rotos on mine, great sound but I find the tension a bit on the high side compared to the Slinkies on my P bass and Status hotwires on my Ray and Status.?
This is from the D'Addario site for the ETB92 Nylon Tapewound (long scale) strings. 6. My 4003 sounds great through Markbass gear. The first thing I did when I got my Ric home from the store was, change the strings. Some players have a hang up, or aversion to changing a 4003's strings. The D'Addario ETB92 Nylon Tapewound strings fit into the nut perfect. Intonation was right on. The D'Addario ETB92 Nylon gauges are, (.50, .65, .85, .105) A good fit, and the Nylons put out a great deep flat string sound.
7. Hi Lozz. The set up really does Kick. Nice to see another player using the same set.
8. The Markbass Mini CMD 121P Combo, with the NY121 cab.
9. My new Rickenbacker 4003 Ruby is on hold for me at the store. Now I just have to get up the rest of the cash, and pick it up.

11. This Markbass is very lightweight, and portable. A Mini CMD121P Combo, and a NY121 cab.
12. Also on this day, 7/20/2005 James Doohan, "Scotty" from Star Trek died on the anniversary of Apollo 11 moon landing.
13. I just traded an RH450 for a Little Mark lll. I haven't played through a Rocker 500, but I do like the sounds from the Markbass amps.
14. I went to a 210 cab, from a 410 cab. I like the size, sound, and easier mobility of the 210.
15. I'm just wondering if any other players with a short scale bass are using Nylon Tapewound strings. My Gibson SG Std. with Nylons.
16. I use this at home in an extra bedroom in the house.
17. Thank you gents. It only took me 44 years to get into a rig I won't part with. I do respect the design, and quality put in to the Markbass.
18. Sized to the Gibson SG Std. Light weight, and not oversized either.
19. I'm using one Traveler 102P 8 ohm, with a Little Mark Tube 800. I sounds great, even with a Gibson SG Std. bass.
20.
You have some very tasteful gear.
Thank you. I went through some gear before getting in to the groove with the Markbass. For me, it just sounds soooo right on.
21. Hi guys. I recently went with this Markbass Traveler 102P cab. Light weight cab, well made, with Neodymium 10" speakers. The Markbass Little Mark Tube 800 is a small package with a big pay off too. the Traveler 102P cab: WEIGHT 33 lbs / 15 kg WIDTH 23.4 in. / 59.4 cm HEIGHT 13 in. / 33 cm DEPTH 17 in. / 43.3 cm the Little Mark Tube 800 head WEIGHT 6.31 lbs / 2.86 kg DEPTH 10.1 in. / 25.6 cm WIDTH 10.87 in. / 27.6 cm HEIGHT 2.8 in. / 7.1 cm

23. I found a very nice setup with a Markbass Little Mark Tube 800 head, and a Markbass Traveler 102P cab. Compact, light, easy to move around, and a great sound. I played them a few times in a local store, and was impressed by them. When I pieced this combination together with the Gibson SG Std. in the store, That iced it for me. 24. I like my 1.600" at the nut, with a 12" radius fretboard of the Gibson SG Std. bass.
25. I play a Gibson SG Std., and the top strap button is the major cause of it's neck dive of death.
