Yeah, for my needs unless it's smaller than the ampeg pf500, and more than 500 watts, there's no point at the mo.

I was looking at something to use as a power amp when wanting to play through either a preamp pedal, or with jamup on the iPad and such like... I can't really see any small very portable poweramps, and wanted to get opinions... Should I be looking at poweramps, or will I be best of sticking to using the ampeg PF500 and going directly into the power amp section? Obviously the ampeg would be cheapest, as I've already got it, but wondered if anyone knew any better power amp solutions please?

I'm with Billy Apple here, if I was looking to spent over a grand on a valve amp, I wouldn't even be considering a Laney to be honest. I'll hold my hands up and say straight out I've never heard or played this particular Laney, but I haven't got much regard for their amps (newer ones anyway). At a grand plus, if be looking at Matamp, Ampeg, Orange etc. as they are tried and tested classics, and will hold value more than the Laney if looking to sell on in my opinion. -

Fully flightcased Fender Blues Jr. amp, pretty much unused since a service by Roland Lumby in Manchester. All valve, 15 watts of gorgeous fender tone, with reverb. It's been a great read so far Ste, keep it coming. Out of interest, have you ever tried pedals into iPad? Bass > pedals > sonic port > iPad app ? Do they play nice or just mess it all up?
