I reckon that basschat is a small portion of bass players, I've been playing about 15 years and have only joined this place this year. I do see some nice gear out in Manchester at times but I thinknwhen most gigs mean sharing gear, folks are less likely to turn up with their best gear for everyone else to use. I cringe when I have seen people popping their lead out without muting it, and hear my amp making all sorts of buzzing and crackling

Sounds a good choice to me, it will keep a bit of that orange sound that you obviously must like from your ad200b.

Well, had a top little day out at Matamp today, a mate of mine had a play of one of a GT1 guitar amp whilst Andrew finished off my head. He loved it, and now he hates me for taking him cos he is skint. I had a pot put in for the drive instead of the 4 stage selector like Ste has had on his. The drive you can get out of this thing is fantastic! The day turned out far more expensive than originally planned, as they had found some more of the same green tolex taht was used on my head, so of course after a bit of umming and ahhing and chatting to Jeff, I went and pulled the trigger on a matching 6x10, possibly to be picked up tomorrow Just don't tell my wife!! So that means I'm now about to try and flog everything, so my Ampeg 6x10 is now going up for sale too! Possibly my Orange Terror Bass 500 too... SO without further ado, ladies and gents, my new Matamp GT200 - ...The birds are tattoos that I have on my forearms. I love this amp.

I also use these, out of about 10 I had two serious duffers though, where the jack fell off inside a pedal, which I then had to perform surgery on Would still prob recommend though.

Agree with bankai, and to be honest, if you've tried the orange TB 500 you probably wont think you need to go to the 1000.

As far as acoustics went, I really liked mine, but sold it due to fewer and fewer occasions to bother using an acoustic. I don't think I would ever buy an acoustic without playing it though, cos you can get some real nasty ones...
