16.
Faith No More - Angel Dust It came out when I was 21. I'm 40 this year. Realising what an influence Billy Gould was on my playing - great stuff.
That album is probably my favourite album of all time. Did you get to see them when they came to the UK last year? I'd never seen them before, I was so pleased.
 17.
Maybe..I am more curious how and why these 'great' basses get sold on. If they were that great they'd stick around longer...?? But for the OP..if the basses hold their value through a few exchanges they may be fairly priced..??? but anyhow, you can desire a price, whether you achieve it is another thing. FWIW, I think most transactions, afaict, are not profiteers as such which makes it a good place to buy/sell, IMO.
To be honest, I think if the for sale forum didn't exist, I would have been blissfully happy with the setup I had. GAS is a terrible thing. Still, I got an amazing bass I don't think I'll ever part with last week
 18. Last December, Iced Earth Been going through a bit of an Iced Earth phase recently. The singer in my band is a massive fan, and we cover this song. I'd not heard the live version till recently but it's awesome. Great fun to play too!
 19.
Hi All We're back out again in Oxford playing our own brand of psyche/acoustic pop. We have a new drummer, and things are getting louder! He's got a good feel though, you won't be deafened. Also playing are Welcome to Peepworld, also playing original tuneful and subtle music. It would be lovely to see some of you there. Cheers Jules
I'd be there if I didn't already have pre-valentines day plans, hope it's a good one though
 20. Songsterr seems to me like a slower, online version of guitar pro. Guitar pro has saved my arse on many an occasion, great software
 21. Welcome to the forum! Yamahas are excellent basses, and you'll have no problem playing metal on them once you get started. They're also quite versatile so if you decide to stray from THE METAL and fancy a bit of a slap (I get tempted from time to time...) then they're quite good for that too. This forum has a wealth of information, I wish it was around when I was a beginner!
 22. And another bump!
 23.
First time ever for me. I would, without question, never replace this bass without first trying the prospective replacement. This is the first time I have felt a deep connection with a bass. I hope it lasts. It's hard to explain, but I feel that the notes I play on it are given back to me by the bass, they don't disappear, every not I play on it brings the bass closer to me. The bass does not remain the same, we give to each other and take from each other. The bass and me are synergistic. It's harder to play than my Warwicks, it has four frets missing, it's passive, it's a funny colour, the frets are too skinny, it's completely old fashioned. But the neck is wonderful and it responds to everything I do. I realise it sounds stupid - it's wood and strings, but it's what I felt on Saturday night, and I still feel it. I truly loved my Warwicks because they were so reliable, great sounding and beautiful to play, but I never got this feeling from them. I don't get it from the Chris Squire Electra I built either. They are all tools. This is different. I wonder if the feeling will last? I've been searching for this feeling for a long time, once I realised it was possible. I had it with a guitar 20 years ago, a Aria Pro II that I modded very heavily. I wore the frets out after three years. I gave it to a friend.
Ah man it's so good to hear this. This is how I felt with the $$ after playing for about 3 hours today! Hope you have years of happiness with it and don't get tempted by something else!
 24. I finally got my hands on a $$ this weekend, it's an amazing instrument. Bump for you sir!
