4. Sounds like the best solution for this is to get a custom made plate made and get that let into the back to rest on a lip: in the same way as most control covers do. You will then have a choice of either have to remove screws to change battery, or mount the battery box into the cover. The latter would look odd but it's serviceable.
5. Thanks but I'm not really looking for trades. I really need to cut the collection. I've got too many basses. Thanks for the interest
6.
Hmm... any trades? (I'm trying to work out a way to trade for Interpol52's SRF700 - which I'm sure he'd trade for this.)
I'm not too keen to trade, but PM me with your offer. You never know I might go for it.
7.
I'm getting very close to one bass and one rig... not quite there, but close...
8. Price dropped to £260 inc shipping (Happy to ship to Europe for £275) This bass is from 2000, made in the Ibanez Japanese factory. The body is mahogany and the whole thing feels really light. A great bass, light in weight and buckets of versatility in the tone. The Pre delivers all the tones you could ever want. It has just been re-finished and set-up with a low action. All in great condition. The mahogany body is finished in Oil finish, making it easily repaired to deal with dings and scratches. The flat-radius 24-fret neck, Dimarzio DP122BK and DP123LBK pups, Hipshot knobs, new pot in the pre-amp (genuine Ibanez). This bass is in East Herts, near Stansted, but I can post to you or arrange delivery. This is now on Ebay, but I'd rather sell here. So any offers? If not then it WILL sell on Sunday 6th November. So there's a deadline for offers of Saturday morning, 5th November. Strap button now fitted! More Info, to answer FAQs: The pups are Dimarzios. I don't know more than that, I didn't change them Tuners are believed to be Grover Bridge is a good high-mass one from Northwest Guitars. The pot knobs are Hipshot The Pre-amp is the original. I've only replaced one pot as it was damaged. I ordered the replacement from Ibanez. The finish is boiled linseed oil throughout. I'm not really interested in trades thanks. I need to cull the collection a bit. In defense, I've spent too long fixing basses in the past month. So the playing is truly "the pits". But, hey, it's the Ibby in action. I've played on the Split coil, with Scooped, Bass boost only, Treble boost only. Then bridge pup with the same - scooped, bass boost, and finally treble boost. All were recorded with the Scarlet 2i2 straight into Reaper. The volume on the bass was always on full. The levels on the Scarlet were kept the same though-out. If I get some more time I may do it all again, but you can generally get a feel for the growl and it's flavour. Thanks for looking.
9.
Never in a million. That is why there are so many clones around doing it better For the price of a CS, I am very VERY confident I could get 3-4 times the bass from a luthier charging the same price....but the F logo is very very powerful magnet to the gullible..IMO Having said that, you can luck out on a good one but you have to be careful searching for it, IME.
I once sold a copy with a Fender logo. It was one I'd bought believing it to be a Fender and got ripped off. I was surprised when the buyer got stroppy over the logo not being good enough. As far as he was concerned, the decal was the difference between it being a Fender and not being a Fender. Strange logic some folk. Me, I'd buy a Maruscyk over a Fender any day.
10. I use Chromes on my Streamer LX. I guess they're extra long. I know the silks are clear of the nut.
11. Or go for a Gotoh BB-04 - that one has 2 batteries. Then, maybe you can build in a change-over switch, so you really should never get let down by a battery on a gig! It would also act as an "Off" switch if you switch to an empty battery holder. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gotoh-BB-04W-Double-Battery-Box/281709372264
12. Looking good Andy. Another great build!
13.
Low F?! blimey, that must be a steel cable on there. I thought it was strung for a high F# instead - more useful! Nice bass though, lovely.
F#? Really? Surely, if you go to F# then you're changing the convention of the note physically under (but higher in tone) the C being an F? Please excuse me asking, but why would that be easier? Craig, please excuse me de-railing your For Sale thread. Nice bass BTW.
14. I've got a 2006 version of this. It's a great bass. I love mine. GLWTS
15. Thanks guys. When I got this bass the neck was really filthy. It was covered with old finger grime. It was a shame to remove it in a way. To me that said, "this bass has been played and loved". The pups are connected with screw terminals allowing them to be easily replaced. I was going to relic this a load more. Somehow I really struggle with bashing a bass about just for a look. I'm sure someone else will love to do it though. I've just priced this for shipping to Europe. UPS would be £23. Parcel Force would be £17.

17. Hi there, This is a bitsa bass with an Encore P-bass neck. I picked up from a Crack Converters. It was filthy and the neck dinged. I've cleaned it up, sorted all the dings on the neck and it now feels nice and smooth in the hands. The nut is 41mm. It weighs 4.59Kg. The pups are of unknown origin. This bass is FULLY WORKING, and fitted with flats. Posted to you, within the UK for £70. You can collect from Stansted area; CM23 4DH or I might be able to drop off to you. Thanks for looking...err and yes, It's good for Metal BTW Cheers Richard
18. I'm in the same position - I don't gig. I honestly envy folk who have 1 bass and can be happy with that. I imagine it allows you to "become one" with that one bass and really get to grips with it. But what bass will you keep? For me I'd have to select from PJ fretted PJ fretless Jazz-style fretted P bass (I've already discounted 5 strings... I think) Tough one
19. Good to hear you like the bridge. WRT the volumes issue, are the strings the same height/distance from the pups? Which strings are louder/quieter?
20.
Surgical spirit works. Whatever you use, test it first in an unconspicuous area.
I'd use White spirit, but I'd go with Ambient about testing. "Under the bridge" is a good song, and could all be about where to test this kind of thing.
