What some folk have done, to do this, is get a cheap bass and rout out the body for almost the whole of the space under the strings. You can then move the pups anywhere and find what you like. ( @Dad3353, already knows this, but it's useful to quote it so you know what I'm on about)

Why would anyone with a brain do that? The cost for the gigs must be colossal. Surely if you fake your social media, you also need to keep a track of what's real?

It's truly great to hear the bass and see it in @TrevorR s videos. It really cuts through with a terrific growl. Mrs G really enjoyed it too. Strangely enough I even got quite emotional with those. Man, I'm getting soft! Thanks Trevor.

Nearer the neck makes the sound more "rounded". Nearer the bridge for a more aggressive "clipped" sound. So there is no "Right" position. Some will talk of a sweet-spot but it's down to personal preference.

That's why it's better to use an old kitchen scotchbrite pad. Old ones are the best as they're less severe.

Lacquered finishes don't accept oil very well. The stickiness of the back of the neck was due to the friction of the amount of smooth lacquer in contact with your skin. All you needed to do was lightly remove *some* of the lacquer and make it into a matt finish. This can be achieved with a light rub over with kitchen scotchbrite pad. An old one is better than a new one. The best thing to do now is sand it back. Wash off any oil residue with white spirit and spray it with matt or semi-matt lacquer.

Diagnosed or announced? Isn't it possible the band knew, but kept under-wraps - as was said in the film? But agreed, for the film it makes the Band-Aid scene so much more emotional.

Yes, @ped, a 2 piece bridge, 2 chunky pickups and the mute thing would mean a big body. Add to this his wanting 24 frets and you're getting up to it being a big bass. Also, this would clash with his demand for something lighter than his old Fodera.

Getting back to the subject of the signature bass for @Joe Hubbard Bass For those who haven't even checked it out. Here's a vid: The subject of similarity to Spectors or even Streamers isn't relevant here. I'm really pleased @Joe Hubbard Bass is thrilled with the bass. It's good to see the care and attention to detail. How many makers drill holes for the bridge and then countersink the holes to get the burrs off, so they can be certain the bridge will lay flat? OK, don't give me a list, but you don't get that everywhere. Sorry, Joe, I would have prefered the natural colour of wood to the the custard colour with naked maple for the neck, but each to their own. Warwick have done a very neat job matching the grain of the body to the wood used in the cover on the back. You obviously didn't like the standard quick-release covers for the battery replacement and the truss-rod covers. I always thought they were a good idea, but I guess you have gone for looks rather than practicality? The Dunlop strap locks are a good touch too. Yet, here's the video of the final result. The important part is the tone, I guess, this starts at 10.00mins in. Any chance, Joe, of a demo of the tone variants in the bass showing the different pickups and controls?

We went last night. We like their music but we're not dedicates fans as such. So can't comment on time lines. IMHO they did enough on Freddie's private life. His family struggled with it then and there's no need to drag it out any further. As @blue says, John Deacon was an amazingly good look a like, and acted pretty well too. We'll probably go again, as we have Cineworld Unlimited.

So, if Kramer Guitars have no issue about it, why do some folk here have to continually beach about it? All the rest is old, been chewed over dozens of times. I like Warwick basses. The legal wrangle isn't my fault and has nothing to do with me. I also don't like the look of the Spector, slightly longer look. It isn't as well proportioned, IMHO. That is just my opinion. If some here don't like Warwick basses, then go and find another thread and keep off the few Warwick ones we have. /rant Phew. I feel better now.

TBH what does get me is when some folk can't talk about instruments that aren't to their taste without aggressively attacking them. There are few real rubbish instruments on the market. All leading(?) brands deserve respect. There are makes I don't particularly like, but you won't catch me rubbishing them. Some people are even prepared to take money from a maker in a signature bass contract, and then rubbish all their other products!
