Interesting... I have a GenzBenz STL-10T cab for practise/portable/small gig use with an RH450. *Slightly* smaller in all dimensions than the One10. Obviously, it's nothing compared with the 2x12 cab I normally use, but fab for home use (significantly with the Wife Acceptance Factor) and anything acoustic. I have gigged with it with a full band, with PA support, and it *just* coped - obviously, that's expecting a lot! Would be interested to see how the One10 compares... Damn you GAS!!!
Your nearest One10 demo unit is in Bishops Stortford... sorry, this isn't helpful is it?

That sounds like a great price for the rout! I'd grab that. It's a nice looking bass you have. Apologies for any misunderstanding. I know none of us here meant to be down on you, or the idea. Good luck, I hope it all works out well. We'd love to hear how it goes.
Easy £150 whatever the cosmetic condition. Must not buy-to-flip... J.
Yes, it can go seriously wrong.... You might actually like it! Then you won't be able to sell and THEN where would you be?!! -
I thought he made his cabs in Holland!
OK, I may be wrong on the geography, but the principle and the economy is about the same. Thanks for the correction.

Vanderkley cabs are handmade in the [s]UK[/s] Netherlands by Mark Vanderkley, so the labour isn't the cheapest in the world. The sound is solid and clean; like Barefaced. Prices are a touch premium, so I guess the attraction to selling them is to free up some cash amongst those who bought, maybe a little above their budget?
Westone Thunder 1A in Cash Converters on Leith Walk for £89. Finish has playing wear but seems complete and the neck was in good shape. Had to fight the urge!
If it's good it could sell for double that. -
Hi all, Anyone know of any decent electrical repairers in exeter devon that know what they are doing. I have a earthing problem buzz that its highly annoying that needs sorting. I have tried the shops here, one didn't have a clue and the two week waiting list at the other one is a bit much.
Have you made sure that it IS the bass and not anything else in the circuit, or in the house/venue electrics causing interference?
Bollocks to it then. I'll order one.
When I collected mine, I asked Alex about use of the One10 with a B string. He said it would be fine.
I'll bear that in mind thanks. Loom aside, the cavity would have to be routed and I have nowhere near the skill set to even make a decent attempt. Would it be easier to go to a guitar shop?
There's a high chance that a guitar shop won't do the work. They would probably send it out to a Luthier to do it. The tone you will get from the pup will be determined by the position of the routing for the pup. The shop also may not discuss this with you. You would be far better if you cut out the shop and find a luthier. You will also, presumably need to think about the finishing of the body. The router will leave the rout as bear natural wood. Do you want the body resprayed? I don't know how expensive this bass is, but the whole cost could be as much as that of buying a second bass with a PJ set already fitted.

Resistance - pots in a standard Jazz circuit
Grangur replied to TheDaivisch's topic in Repairs and Technical
Measurements like this are not always the same as the wiring on your bass may not necessarily be standard. Assuming that you are measuring across the 2 outermost terminals, the way to be sure of this is to remove the connections to one of those terminals, and to be completely sure, from the centre terminal as well. Without doing this there's always a good chance that you're measuring the resistance of another part of the circuit as well. -
Lower frets only. So lefty loosey, aye?
That's the one. Just an 1/8 of a turn and see how it goes. You can always do another 1/8.

SOLD - Markbass LM3 Little Mark III - Italian Made

Hi there, I'm putting up for sale my Markbass CMD 121P. It's a great combo, but it's redundant these days. It's one of those "Made in Italy" ones that folk seem to want these days. AND I'm dropping the price to £395 It's in East Herts, near Stansted airport, but I'm happy to send by courier to anyone for the courier cost of about £15. (Give me a few days to get more strong cardboard.) Here's what Thomann have to say about it: http://www.thomann.d...md_121p_lm3.htm Here's what Mark Bass have to say: http://www.markbass....etail.php?id=41 The one I have is a LM2. They have now changed to LM3 on the new ones, but the spec is the same. This combo gives a good clear crisp punchy sound, yet with plenty of bottom end too. As far as I know it's really been stretched it at all, but will handle most pub-sized gigs. It's in really good condition. All yours, with the "Optional" cover for £395. "Optional" cover comes included on this one. Great chance for you to pick up a great combo. Drop me a PM now!

Recommend tech for fret dress in Surrey/Sussex?

This is a Westone Thunder 1A 1981/2 precision bass with original pickups; with adjustable cores to the pickups, to allow you to adjust the sound to your taste. Price now dropped to £149 plus shipping cost. This is an active/passive bass and the electrics are the originals with the exception of the one of the battery connectors, which I've replaced. The switches and pots all work well. There are no real dings or scrapes to tell you about with the exception of a small worn patch in the lacquer above the pups. There's no buckle rash or anything. The strings are good and it's nicely set up. It comes in a "home made" case that was made by the original owner. The lining is a bit moth-eaten, but it's pretty solid and does the job well; not that I'd call it a "flight case". The weight of this is about "medium" really. It weighs 4.3Kg. That's 9.48lb in old money. It sits well on the strap without any neck dive and doesn't break your back. Thanks for looking. The pics aren't the greatest. If you want pics of anything in particular just post below and I'll be pleased to get you the best ones I can. For those reading in black and white, I live on the Herts/Essex border but do travel about and might be able to deliver. I'm also happy to ship it. Payment by cash or bank transfer prefered. Last time I put this bass up here some j@rk P***d me off by telling me it's not in as good condition as I claim. Actually it's in great condition. The neck is as solid as a rock in the pocket. It's a good bass. There are no dings in the neck, It's as smooth as a baby's behind and the body, while it has one or two scrapes, is in great condition. It comes with a hardcase that was home-made by the original owner. The bass is near Stansted airport in Herts/Essex, but I'd be happy to ship by courier it at cost. It also has a small patch of wear above the pup. Below you can see a minor mark in the wood on the back of the body near the neck. But we are talking about a 30 year old bass! Here it is in it's entirety. Still interested? Take a look here: http://s1175.photobu...%20sale/Westone It won't be here long. I saw one a lot worse for wear go on Ebay for £180 without a case or strap. So I've listed it there too. So, BC tyre kickers, don't hang about if you're interested. Thanks for looking!

Have I just blown all the cabs I own? Sorted! Thanks guys
What bass were you using? Active bass, with battery all but dead and distorting? If bass is common factor try a new battery in it.

That's gotta be a dodgy cable.....and have you tried a different bass?
I've been playing a Streamer S1 and Streamer LX Fretless, both in Passive mode. Well, not to be too keen to dismiss the thought, I plugged in a Westone passive. Problems all gone!!!! Changed the battery in the Fretless and again... problem all gone! WOW! Bagsieblue I love you!! Fancy the problem happening in 2 basses at the same time. I can sleep now in peace. Many thanks guys. Ahh, and MudPup, thanks for the suggestion. I have been changing leads too. Thanks all the same. And who said you only need 1 bass? -

OK, I've now played the LM3 through the Midget and that's OK. Playing the LM3 through the One10 with the same bass, cord, speakon lead etc, that's not well. I then put the LM3 together with the Cab of the CMD, again it's not good. There's not been any bangs, sparks etc. So there's no sign of a big "event" with anything. -
Hi Folk, I have the following kit. MarkBass LM3 MarkBass Mini CMD121P Barefaced Midget Barefaced One10 Recently I've been playing bass using my LM3 and the Barefaced cabs. All with no problems. It all sounded great. Deciding to trade my CMD121 I took it out to try it out for a last go. It played ok, but on notes at the bottom end of the E string the cone seemed to be fluttering, like a fart. All this is at low volume in my lounge at home. Worried, I removed the combo from sale on BC and started to investigate. I checked the mount of the driver. Nothing untoward, so I took out the amp from the combo to a try it on the Midget. The Midget started making the same noise, so I then tried it on the One10, same again. I then put my LM3 back onto the One10 and that's now farting too!!! This was all at low volume. PLEASE tell me I've not totally blown all the drivers. If there's a fault with a head, can it really blow a driver without turning the gain or volume up above 20% ? I've seen there's a guy in Essex who fixes MarkBass. I think I may be off there in the morning. But can anyone help please?
These are great combos, is this one made in Italy?
I just went and checked. The date is 11-2005. So, yes, this is Italian made. Really great for its age. I had no idea. The fan in the back is pretty clear too. (I'm going to regret parting with this one day. I can see it coming.)
