Save your money - I think he means the Radio2 breakfast show - you don't need a license to listen to radio do you?
Oh wow, of course. Great stuff. Excellent gig, btw. Really pleased for the OP. -
This looks like an early version of this combo?
I know it's not the latest version. I didn't have it from new. What I know is it is just like new. It's hardly been used. Looking further at the market, I might have over done the price. So now dropped a smidgen
Unfortunately you have stacked these with opposite polarity, leading to the bass frequencies from the Midget being cancelled out. Try aligning the 'Barefaced' logos properly and you will hear a real improvement in the sound.
I've got them both with the carry-handles at the top. And the logos are STILL not aligned! Clearly I have faulty kit here. I'm back to Brighton in a week I'll return it all to Alex for re-working under guarantee. ;P

Squier Jazz 'Silver Series' BIN £200
Grangur replied to Paul S's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
'This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available'. Which is code for 'This listing was ended by the seller because the bidding hadn't got anywhere near the price he wanted towards the end of the auction and he wasn't about to let it go for bugger-all'.
That's the trouble with starting an auction with a high start price. It hides any gauge of how enthusiastic the bidding could be. For all he knows it could have jumped £150 in the last minute or two. -

Funnily enough. I gained a Midget last weekend. I've not gigged it but they sound well together to my noob ears. The midget, while it's the bigger of the 2, gives a punchier, more treble sound.

Thanks for posting Andy. You clearly have this down to a fine art. It's always good to watch again.
Question time - I'm trying to save the Made in Japan and serial number on the headstock. Any ideas how I can get the paint stripped neatly around it?
I recon you've done about the best that's possible. Either heat or Nitromores would run the risk of you losing those. But I have been known to be wrong.

Pics added. They're about as honest as I can get. They have been used. Not by me, but the previous owner clearly used the top of the bridge pup as a thumb rest and he actually used strings, would you believe! So the strings have left a mark on the top of the pickups. It's nothing drastic. There are no real bad marks here that you won't leave yourself by fitting them. The cables have signs of having been soldered, but that's only to be expected too.

Certainly a hot glue would be great if you have access to some. I was assuming you don't.

Black Coffee asked about the pups. Pickups - they seem a bit lower than I would set them. I'm thinking that a lift of 1-2mm would make the output just a touch stronger, which would be nice. When I loosen the screws they don't come up any higher. So I would find something to put under the foam that's there, stuck to the bottom of the pups. These things are a personal preference, so you may like it just as it is. There's nothing wrong with the bass, that I'm aware of. If there was a problem of the pup screws that go into the body. If there was a problem I would have fixed it. When I got the bass neck pup didn't work and the tone pot was knacked. So I re-wired the elects on the front volume and replaced the tone pot. Now it's all working fine. I might just take a look at the pups myself this evening if I've a bit of time.
OK, pics so far: http://s892.photobuc...owell1/library/
Miraculous result there on the elects! Absolutely amazing! Sad to see the body splits. That looks like it could be water damage. I'd welly some PVA glue in there, maybe water it down very slight for the first 1 or 2 applications, so it sinks into the bottom of the splits better. This has the makings of a really nice bass though.
