1. For the benefit of those reading in Black & White, Pmjos is in Essex. Please someone buy this as it's calling to me and I don't need another bass!
 2.
It is! Would you like another one? Stack of Doom.... or you could leave one at home and one at your rehearsal place... Hang on, if I got another one, so could I!!
Would you like to buy one? Something really cool with these is the power handling. If you're forced into a gear sharing situation and have a 500w head, the other guys can crank it up all they like and this is bullet proof. I've got mine in the lounge at home with a LM3. I just love the tone. So does Mrs, thank God!
 3. Hey Lozz, I can offer you light at the end of the tunnel. In 2-3 weeks we're due to trade basses. I'll happily trade for the horrible fat neck one if you like.
 4. You need to go try some. Here's a good opportunity for you. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/265772-barefaced-midget-t-and-barefaced-compact-2nd-gen/
 5. As I'm bored and was on that page; here's what Barefaced have to say about the midget http://barefacedbass.com/product-range/midget.htm
 6. Hard to say. I love it, but "The BigOne" also has a 6" speaker in there too. I also have a MarkBass 12" combo. The combo has good all-round tone, it's zingier than the Barefaced, but still good low-down. I always find 10s too full of treble. That said Gary Mac's 4x10 MarkBass sound good live. Maybe I should say; I'm a lounge-playing warrior. Not playing live. So "needs" can be different. The other thing to watch is Barefaced and MarkBass have different tones. Neither are zingy, but others will know more about this. Lozz will be along later. He changed from MarkBass to Barefaced. I'm sure he'll be able to tell you more about this too.
 7. I would have thought so, but I'm following.
 8.
You don't need buyer protection with Harry ☺️ Deal with confidence
Thanks for the endorsement. In that case I'd send prefer to send by BACS and we both save on the commission.
 9.
Can't be the pinnacle....he’s only got 4 strings!
I once heard Anthony Wellington tell students that 5 is easier to play than 4 and 6 is easier than 5. The reason being that you don't need to move about the neck so much. This discussion is interesting. If the peak of violin playing has yet to reached after 400+ years, it would be amazing/disappointing if some 30ish year old guy could attain that on the electric bass when that version of the instrument is only 50ish years old. What is worrying is the future for bass if, as I suspect, most recordings of contemporary music are made with bass from a drum machine. Or am I wrong on that? On the matter of the OP. I heard lots of. Notes but I didn't hear any clever use of rests that can make your heart and ears pick up.
 10. As I'm bored on a hot night... DIMENSIONS 19.5" H x 13.5" W x 13.5" D 48cm x 34cm x 34cm And this is what Barefaced have to say: http://barefacedbass.com/product-range/midget.htm Great cabs these. I love my BigOne
 11.
Just for the record. The ohm is a unit of impedance. There is no such word as ohmage.
The way the folk at "The Oxford English dictionary" work, there will be soon. But that's another story. Great thread. Thanks guys.
 12. This isn't for me, but someone has to ask the question: "no fee PayPal" Does this mean you're looking for payment where you don't have fees, and there's no buyer protection, or are you offering that they can buy with no fees and they get buyer protection? Just wondering...
 13. Lovely bass. I happen to know that Scott's version of this is passive, although it still has a battery compartment. Scott doesn't like an Active bass but Chris insisted on doing it with the compartment in case Scott changes his mind. What I'm getting to, slowly, is; is this active or passive? Just curious.
 14.
I`ve had the US Version before and it was easily the most versatile bass I`ve ever had. Too much temptation here Rich, sell it quickly!
Hey Lozz. You know you're really a Jazz man at heart.
 15.
That is a bargain.
Thanks.
 16. The advantage of "Active territory" on this type of bass is you get away from the dual volume control and have a blend pot that actually works. But then each to their own.
 17.
Thank you. Just a couple more things: What's the tone like, more specifically? How does it handle the mids and highs? Is the neck finished well/is it as narrow as most other J-basses?
WRT tone, in my opinion the tones are good in the mid and high end. It doesn't have a clank like a MM. I might ask Shonks to answer this as he's more experienced and he's played it. The neck is a true jazz. It's narrower than that on my P and those on my Warwick.
 18.
Bump What pickups are those? How old is it? How much wear/what kind of use has it had? Is there any documentation for it? Thanks in advance
It's in almost mint condition. The pups are standard Fender for the time it was made. I can't remember the year and today is the first day of my 2 weeks holiday. I'll have to post that when I get home. Something like 2005 seems to ring a bell, but I'm not at all sure. I do know the last owner bought it and never touched it for years. I hope this helps.
 19. I'd love the Compact, but can you send by courier? Otherwise, maybe we could arrange to meet? I'm in Bishops Stortford.
 20.
Not really, the Red Label nickel B strings more often than not don't fit the Warwick tail piece! Only after some fiddling with the string and some pliers they will go in.
Ahh. So it looks like a file IS the answer. Thanks for that.
 21. Amazing woman. Real shame it all went so wrong. Wasn't she lovely back then in the early days?
 22.
Ignorance is bliss eh? It's a well known solution to a well known problem with 'wicks.
"Problem" or "design feature": to help them sell their branded strings?
 23.
Any reason why you don't like the Warwick strings (which do fit, even the non-tapered red label versions)? They work and sound really good on my MiK Star bass.
Yes, I have an aversion to red. I've not tried them. Maybe I'll give them a crack next time. Thanks for that. TBH I bought this set of D'Addarios from a fellow BCer, so I'm being stingey I guess.
