1.
yeah, I guess I was asking for an entry level German corvette or streamer... Anyways, I got my German Corvette now and i'm loving it! Full review and pics coming soon - when the new knobs arrive...
Good to hear you are enjoying the Weather. It's a totally different experience to a Ray. I wouldn't want a Ray either.
2.
I can see all your names. I'm telling your wives / girlfriends / significant others
Aagggghhh no!!!!
3. Do you mean, does the neck have additional strengthening inside the neck in the top half of the neck? I doubt that it does, but we do have folk here who know more than I do.
4.
I'm in Burnham on Crouch ( kind of between Southend and Chelmsford) - I've only lived here a few months having moved down from York, so I'm not too sure about how easy it is to get to places from here yet.
41 Miles (1hr 14) for me. I don't know if Paul's guy would do it. If you can wait I will be coming your way in about a month and I could do it when I come. I'd do it sooner, but I'm going away.
5.
That is a sorry sight If it could be negotiated down a little more, it wouldn't be a bad price. Finish off the stripping process and assuming the wood was decent a few coats of oil and it might look quite fine.
That is very tempting...
6. I've just bought a bass. It didn't cost a lot. I don't need it. In fact I have 7 other basses, most of which seldom get played. I'm not even in a band. I'm crop at playing bass. I just love the excitement of the variety and trying new basses. I sold a bass today too. That doesn't bother me, but I need to stop acquiring them. Is this unusual? Name withheld to save embarrassment.
7. I'm in Bishops Stortford and can collect for a good setup at a good rate but Colchester or Harwich, again wouldn't be good for me either.

New pictures are looking good.
9. Looking better there Ray. Glwts
10. I think we all know that sickening, gut wrenching feeling at some time. Really feel for you. Not that this helps any. Good luck in getting it together for another load of gear.
11. If the wood is stripped of lacquer then wash the bare wood in tea. Tea will stain the wood. Then re-apply the lacquer.

Hello

Hey Tom, it's good to "meet" you. Welcome to BC.
13.
http://www.emgpickup...ntrols/vmc.html there you go - think that's what you've got. It's not really that weird - unless you need lots of bass boost all the time it probably makes as much sense as a two band eq on a bass.
East Pre-amps have a VMC as well. So they're not unknown. I guess it's a case of experimentation to learn how to use it.
14.
Thanks Grangur. I've PM'd on the parts, but the preamp is passive, and i'm really after the option of passive/active push/pull. Nice looking body though on that corvette!
Yes, I went and saw that after posting; shame really.
15. Maybe there's a BCer near you who has one you can try? If you put your location in your profile someone might offer.
16. Good luck with the project. Another possibility for you is a corvette body that's for sale in the marketplace here. That might give you all the parts you need.
17. I have a pre-amp harness in a Fender Jazz Deluxe bass that I might feel inclined to change. I'm not sure yet, but if I do the Fender Pre-amp could be available. What it has is Vol, Blend, Stacked Treble/Bass, Mids So there are 4 knobs; 1 more than you have. IF we can come to an agreement, and if it's the right thing for you, I could sell you this. I'm in no rush though. Let's see if anyone else comes up with any more info. There's no passive mode, but maybe you can fit a by-pass switch after the blend and by-passing the tone pots/pre-amp, linking the blend straight to the jack. What does the seller have to say on the subject?
Cheers guys, sorted
True. But I'd still suggest adding some more pics when you have a few minutes.
19. This won't help, but Warwicks sound great in passive mode. I play all mine in passive all the time. See.. I said this wouldn't help. On the other hand, if you can get a used pre-amp from another BCer, you'll have a great bass. ( I know the down-side is you thought you wouldn't have to spend anything on it.)
20. Another buy-ump for a very attractive, tastefully pimped bass.
21. Any chance of some pics? This could be what I'm looking for.
I sold my fretless jazz within a week not long ago. Agree with the pics though i saw them at first now gone
It's like selling anything; the right buyer can come along at any time. With Fretless there are probably fewer potential buyers though. My guess on the pic is that he's had a tidy up in his photobucket.
