1.
Thank you and yourself! Actually you seemed to have brought me the good luck! I've had some interest in it now! So currently it's sold pending!
LOL all part of the service.
2. Here's a good version from a young man in East Yorkshire. He was 13 a few weeks ago when he posted it on Scotts Bass Lessons forum. https://vimeo.com/123636071 The fingering is nice and easy to follow.
3. Hi there, There I was GASsing for a P-bass and this one came into view.... and woops!! There it was clicked and it's mine!! Well deko basses come and go so fast, so I rushed. The problem for me is this is another PJ. I've got lots of PJs I just want a P. So, here I have a nice deko bass and no need for it. I've contemplated doing a "project" on it, but thinking I'll let someone else have a chance. HARLEY BENTON PJ-4 HTR DELUXE SERIES DEKO Decoration, Harley Benton PJ-4 HTR Deluxe Series electric bass, NOT for playing - just for decoration, Bolt-on neck construction, alder body, maple neck with modern C-shape, "Not for playing" ! Huh! That's a laugh. It has the "D" stamp on the heel and the base of the neck, but it's in good shape. Lovely see-through red gloss finish. It handles well. All I'm looking to do is get my investment back. I can send it back to Thomann if nobody it interested. But somehow I don't see that happening. There are no dings or scratches, It's in great condition. There you go; £45 plus carriage. I'm a compulsive set-up-er of basses, so I've pretty much set her up. The strings are a bit zingey for me, but she's a great one for someone. Thanks for looking Richard
4. Have you ever played a Fretless? Imho it's a drastic move to secret a bass if you then find Fretless doesn't work for you.
5. Thanks for your posts guy's.
Benefit of Basschat really, buy one, find out if you really like it, if not sell on at little or no outlay.
That is really what I've been thinking of late. Rather than pimp a cheap bass, if you buy a Fender you can recover your costs. A "Pretender" no matter what you do is still what it is.
6. I've seen one for sale. Does anyone know much about them? I like the look, but the body is larger than a normal P, so are they heavy? Any other thoughts? I'm really GASsing for a P really. I like WalBassists P too http://basschat.co.uk/topic/260626-fender-american-special-precision-bass-honeyburst-2012/ Is the benefit of a "real" Fender so much more than a pretender-Fender?
7.
It is still for sale. I just forgot about it if I'm honest!
Just checkin' Have a good weekend
8. I wonder if this is still for sale type bump GLWTS - or mark it "SOLD"
9. Sitting in the queue here. I'll have any if anybody pulls out or you have others to sell.
10. Wow! This is one nice bass. And going for silly money too. GLWTS
11. I generally put anything up at 99p and simply let it run it's course. The low start gets folk interested in watching it and most things find their true value. Certainly there's enough folk watching the basses that no bass ever gets sold at a real bargain price, unless someone is at Lands End with "Collection only". What bugs me is the reserve price. In a real "stand in the room and raise you hand" type auction, the punters don't know there is a reserve price. On Ebay it's like there's an "elephant in the room". We all know the reserve price hasn't been met. You can watch it for 7 days. It gets to the end, only to find the item NEVER gets to sell, because the [s]plonker selling[/s] seller has some inflated idea of the item's value. I even feel tempted to put my Harley Benton up there for sale, start at 99p, with a reserve of £2k and see it relist week after week, after week, after week....
12. Mike just bought a guitar from me. Never met him yet, but it's been good chatting and I'd have no hesitation in dealing with him again. Many thanks Mike. I hope the guitar does all you want from it. Cheers Rich
13.
well no-one's getting back to me about the G&B pickups. Anyone got any more ideas I could try?
A search on Google has told me the G&B Pickup Company is based I Korea. They seem to mainly supply the OEM market. Axesrus appear to sell some though, so you could talk to them. http://www.axesrus.co.uk/G-B-G116-Humbuckers-p/gandb-g116.htm

15.
Slightly off-topic, perhaps, but, seeing the question and the replies, I wonder... If we (the bassists...) sometimes can't pick out accurately the bass line, can the listener..? That's to say: how much, then, does it really matter that it be 'right'..? Hmm... Just wondering...
I often wonder how much my OCD perfectionist nature gets in the way of me actually playing something/anything.
16. Wow! Amazing news! Just a thought; I was suspicious of this sale being without pics. Saying "I'll email pics" is all well and good, but it removes the chance that another BCer can flag up a rogue if the pics are simply lifted from another old thread. I know this isn't fool proof. Just an idea if we were to ban sales without pics?
17. And there was me thinking "has Si seriously started a thread about his new Daisy Rock bass?" Congratulations on your great taste. It looks amazing. I look forward to seeing and hearing it at the Herts Bash if you can get there with it.
18. Great gear and a good guy. I'm down that way tomorrow and coming back to London after. I could bring this back if that's helpful to anyone.
19.
Argh this is torture some one buy it if Gary says that it is a cracking bass it will be great chap to deal with too
Ditto.
20. Isn't this a JB-2? An SB-2 is a PJ bass
21. Oops!! Duplicate thread. Don't post here to avoid confusion
22.
This is one place i feel safe with transactions, never had any issues with anyone on bass chat, i suppose things like this will happen , lot of money to loose, the majority of folks on here have superb feedback making it safe to do business.
It's shocking to hear of this here. I really hope the OP gets his money back. This is lesson to us all here to only buy from folk we see who have a history of posting and being active.
