1. I had this problem with an MB30. I solved it by opening up the front ang carefully using a vacuum cleaner round the cone moving parts. Ithink you'll find Marshall speakers are susceptible to dust clogging the cone movement.
2. Another alternative to the wirewool is to use a scotchbrite type scourer. Use I dry, of course. This has the benefit f not falling apart and sticking to the pups.
3. Just a small point: £149. Thats $250 for a set of tuninh heads? I've bought entire instruments for less!
4. Wouldn't these also fit a Fender? All you need to do is unscrew the big screw in the cog and turn the key round 180 degrees. Not that I need any, but it might help sell them.
5. Good basses these. Great value for money and you can get amazingly low action. GLWTS
6. I bought a full set. I paid a lot more, but they came with a free set of pups, strings, body and neck. They're light-weight and stable; don't need re-tuning much. I'd buy them for another bass without any hesitation.
7.
If you play 4 fretted then go same make and model 4 fretless and your muscle memory is in the right place on the fingerboard. I'm surprised anyway that you say fretless 4 strings are hard to find. At GAK for example almost all the fretlesses are 4 string.
Good point about the strings. Unfortunately I'm a bit fussy. I want an unlined fb and passive elects. Also I'm looking for a something a bit different to that which Gak seem to carry in stock. Thanks all the same.
8. Angel aka Jon bought a meck from me. He's a good guy, a man of his word. Deal with confidence.
9. If I can throw a question in here please. If going for fretless, is it better to go 5 string? I ask because I'm much more at home on a 4 but 4 strings seem hard to find. Is there a reason for this?
10. Surely the value of the bass is irrelevant? Or did you mean "Best mic under £100 for recording a bass" ?
Sold Mark a Big One! Top bloke, no probs, good comms, swift transaction 'Nuff said!
Ditto. Mark's a great guy. Easy, swift transaction. Buy or sell with confidence.
12. Thanks Mark, for buying the bridge, the feedback and the update. Its always good to know when things get there.
13.
Going off-topic for a moment, the scalloped body on the Streamer is one thing I don't like! It makes it unnecessarily thicker - unless maybe the player has a large belly? I'm perfectly fine with the flat Corvette and Fortress bodies, which are only shaped for comfort at the top. So it really is a matter of personal taste.
*cough*.... pardon madam. I'm not fat The shaping, I guess, does make the body bulge more. I found something about the positioning of the Corvette gave me back pain. I think it may have been the position of the strap button and me trying to crane my neck to see the strings (being a noob to playing). But, as I say... each to their own.
14. FWIW I had a Warwick Corvette 4, German made version. It was ok-ish but I can't say I was blown away. I traded it for a Warwick Streamer Stage 1 which is passive/active with the push pull and it's far better, even in passive mode. The other point that I found I didn't like at the time with the Corvette is the slab-flat body. The Streamer body is scalloped in on the back, so it lays far better against the body. But, that said; each to their own. Good luck, whatever you decide to do.
15. Pm'd back... consider it sold to the man in the pirate hat & eye patch
16.
Tempting...
You know you need it.

Meet Despair

Not seen that style before (maybe I don't get out much) It looks good. You've done a neat job there.
18. Good stuff. Looking forward to seeing this finished; as I'm sure you are too.
19. Many thanks... honestly it's a great bass. I can also change the bridge if someone wants a high-mass Hipshot or a Badass III.... extra cost, of course. But it's available to be added.
20. An unlined fretless... I just don't know if I should carry on with the 4 string I feel at home on, or get used to a 5er?
21. I've loved this bass and it's been great, but I need to keep to 1-in = 1-out Here, as you see it is a Fender Squier Affinity precision bass with upgraded pots/harness/knobs, shielded cavities and pearly white pick guard. For £95 it comes with the standard pups. For £145 it comes with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders For £135 it comes with Kent Armstrong pups Either upgrade would be a good value and I'll happily fit them for you, or have it as standard. The neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard and great grain. The frets are in good condition and the strings have loads of life in them. The set up is nice and low. I can ship it for £14.00, or collect it from Herts/Essex area, or I can deliver within 50 miles of London (maybe more as I travel a bit) Enjoy looking? Then you'll love playing it!
22.
Ibanez GSRM-20. From Thomann, about £170. 28.6" scale, fits a guitar bag. Change the strings, the factory ones are not very good. I've got one, I like it a lot. http://www.thomann.d...9b625145ac9a81d Edit: Madshadows beat me to it, and cheaper too
+1 on the Ibby. That looks great value. You can't go wrong with an Ibanez IMO
