You can buy wax sticks of wood filler. These come in a variety of different shades. I saw a small set of sticks yesterday in Homebase near the varnish. To use the wax you kneed ot in your fingers to warm it and make it soft. Then when its like putty you push it into the holes. In the hole it sets and goes hard. if you later want to re-fit a pick guard then the wax is removable.

Many thanks Howard, for the pick guard for my 1970s East German bass. You've done a nice neat job. Thanks again Rich

Chris just bought my body. Err, well... it's a P-bass body to be precise. He's a good guy. Really easy transaction. Many thanks Chris Cheers Rich

Isn't this more what the OP is looking for: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/seymour-duncan-liberator-solderless-potentiometer-500k The problem is you will probably need more space in in the body cavity to fit the things in. The best route is this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrVCkEoY_8M

Project - your ideas invited for head repair - first veneer
Grangur replied to Grangur's topic in Repairs and Technical
Many thanks Subsonic. I'll give that a go. I can try it out on a spare off-cut of veneer. -
If you've got cheap instruments you can take a risk on the cover, but you don't. I wouldn't leave it to chance on what gets said in a phone call. They can change the rules at any time and you'll have to re-read the small print everytime any booklet comes in with some "minor" changes. I'd go and get a quote for a proper policy. Allianz are good and well respected. http://www.allianzmusicalinsurance.co.uk/

I've found this book good: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blues-Bass-Complete-Full-Band-Builders/dp/0793586682/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1394454774&sr=1-2&keywords=blues+bass It has loads of blues lines, turn-arounds, ends and about 20 solos too.

You're welcome.

Ahhh... that makes sense. There had to be something that's changed the software in some way. I'd recommend you install another browser and start using that. I use Google Chrome. Firefox is also good.

Its not impossible that Windows has installed a nice new updated version without you knowing. Look for a button on your tool bars that looks like a broken page. Have a look here: http://technology.pitt.edu/help/help-index/ie10-compatview.html

I know BC has had some issues when working in the latest versions of Internet Exploder. What browser are you using? (Not that I'm any expert on these things) If you're using you could try clicking the button in the menu bar for "Compatibility view", this makes IE work in a mode that's compatible with older servers - like BC.

So I'm the only one who gets bored half way through then? I find the rhythm very repetitive.

Replacement pup for a Stirling RAY34CA?
Grangur replied to Mr Fretbuzz's topic in Repairs and Technical
Kent Armstrongs are Ceramic. I've got one in a Wishbass and it really barks/growls. Amazing value for £51 http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/musicman-bass-pickup-2765-p.asp -
Hi there, This is a fretless neck. Well I bought it as that. It's probably from a Squier, but someone may set me straight on that? Good points: Nice grain Truss rod works, Neat defretting - no splintering signs. Lines filled with filler to not show the lines much. Dated May 89 Bad points: The real one for me is the truss-rod will compensate for string tension, but doesn't have enough action to get the neck flat under tension. That may not worry you, but it won't give much of a mwaaa sound without it going flat. No nut. In short it could be a nice neck for someone to try re-fretting, or it may be your thing. Or you may want to rip the truss rod out, or use it as a stick to beat intruders... (I did NOT really say that!!... but it's a better option than Oscar P's choice) Price now £18 shipped to the UK. Thanks for looking Cheers Richard

Hi there, This is a nice, primed p-bass body suitable for a project. I believe it's solid wood, but I don't know what wood it is and no idea what the grain would look like. The pocket is ok for a 63.5mm neck, but you may want to check the routing and sand/fill to suit. Good points: Nicely shaped, good for a Fender/Squier copy project. Really light - 1.375Kg Bad points: The pocket has been drilled for 2 different necks. It will need checking for screw positions for your neck and holes filled. Reason for selling: I've got enough p-basses and don't think I want another project right now. (Did I really say that!?!) Price now £25 shipped Thanks for looking Cheers Richard
A put me out of my misery type bump Debs I think you are in mint condition.
Haha, gratuitous old thread resurrection! Which one? American Standard Jazz V http://www.guitarpar...04-8736-000.jpg or American Deluxe V Humbucker? http://www.guitarpar...05-6135-000.jpg Or a normal sized Jazz replacement from SD or Delano as mentioned earlier in the thread? I'm more or less a republican BTW
Naahhh... You need a Kent Armstrong MM style. I've got one in my Wishbass with round-wounds. It's got a real growl. For the money it's an incredible sound. (IMHO of course) http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/musicman-bass-pickup-2765-p.asp I'll try to record it over the weekend.
