1. When you're sanding the wood, sand in the direction of the grain. Also finish off the sanding using a really fine paper. Ideally you need 320 grit ro finer. It needs to feel really smooth and silky before you start any spraying at all. After tbe first coat of primer get a slightly damp cloth and wipe it over and see if the cloth misses any bits. If it does, these may be dimples that need filling before you go on. I'm only saying this in case its not been said and it might saxe you work. It looks like you're having a tough time.
2. It looks ok to me. Take off the strings, unscrew out the pups and a good clean with a damp, soapy soft cloth. No problem. After that you won't worry about the value cos you'll play it like your other basses. (Assuming you have another bass) Nowt wrong with it at all.
3.
Warwick have essentially priced themselves out of the U.K market and alienated a lot if not all of their existing dealers in the process, going by what I have read on Basschat . Shame, because I would love to buy a German-made Warwick myself, and if and when they slash their prices by half I will probably do so.
My guess is Warwick think the Rock Bass is the answer. But the RB is not in the same league by a mile.
4. Not being pretentious about it being a thoroughbred Fender either, which is honest and rare.
5. Yet another non-descript thread title that tells the reader f**** all about the content ... ho hum. Grrrumble, mumble.... (goes off muttering)
6. Real beaut of a bass. I can't believe this isn't marked "SOLD" and long gone. Especially at that price
7.
There seems to be a shocking lack of bass representation in schools if this thred is anything to go by... Think I might donate one to my local school...
Great idea and very generous of you, but you'd better donate an amp too or its going to be a white elephant. In my school there was no bass. Misic lessons were a teacher playing Carpenters records while the class did their homework for other subjects.
8. Still for sale. Bump! Beauty of a bass, but not for me this month...
9. Doesn't that vid make you feel silly if you're in the habit of saying a p bass neck is too wide for you?
10. PM'd with a clip. Not the greatest. For that I'd need a better bass player.
11.
Throw a curve ball. No plate just a control plate...
+ 1 It got lovely wood grain. It's a real shame to cover it at all.
12.
If the purchaser wasn't happy I'd full refund after they returned the item.
+1
13. Great standard from all. Really hard to choose. Maybe that's why there's loads of views, but few voters. But hey, even if you're torn between 2 or 3, vote for ONE of them!! Thanks guys
14. OK, ok, ok already!!! I'll do it!! Besides I've run out of wool.
15. Take a suitable box with the electric bass. When the electric is finished with, pack it and courier it home. Then bring the DB back on the train. If you use Collect plus you'll only just have to drop the bass at a news agency or petrol station where ever the local point is.
16. We don't know the value of the electric bass, but can you send it by courier?
17.
That sounds worth trying, if anybody got a diagram it would be much appreciated . Been spending a bit more time with it, gone up a gauge in strings and used it at band practice yesterday to give it another run out, used a different room this time so different amp (Ashdown with 2x15 as apposed to Warwick 1x15 + 4x10) it sounded a lot better through the Ashdown but still lacking ? how I think it should sound! about the best way I can put it .
Here's a diagram for a switchable version, but you'll find you need to have the gain on both pups at full. Turning either of them down will turn it all down. I guess another option is to wire the switch so it wires the pups in series and takes the pots out of circuit; straight from the pups to the jack. But all if the best solution isn't simply to adjust the EQ anyway.
18. You don't get sigs on the mobile version though.
19. That looks really great. You're doing a fantastic job. Probably a better choice for me right now than the 5 string fretless I have been playing.
20. 2nd favourite to the show-off slappers has to ne the bedroom demos where you can scarcely hear anything over the drum machine or backing track. It amazes me that these plonkers don't watch the video before posting. If they did SURELY they would realise it's about as good as a demo as an ashtray is on a motorcycle?
21. You mate knows you're interested, does he? What would you tell him as a reason to not buy it? Surely you can't say it looks gay? BTW I used to have a metallic aubergine company car. I loved it. Ir was different. I didnt see a problem with it until I changed my job and a colleague came to collect it and he even saw driving it back as an assault on his masculinity; poor feeble twit. Buy it and live!!
22. Hi all, I'm selling this as I need some money and don't get on well with a 5 string. It's a Gary Wilis sig, with lined fingerboard, 2 band EQ and ramp. Plays really nice - one of the most comfy necks I've played. Its in "almost new" condition. The flat-matt has lost some of the matt-ness through handling, but there's no dings or scrapes. Features

GWB 3-piece maple neck
Basswood body
Ebonol fretless fingerboard
B105 bridge
SFR-GWB Custom neck pickup
Offset pearl dot inlay
Black hardware
EQB-GWII 2-band EQ
Quite flexible tones, from fat smoothness to a jaco bark. It's in Herts/Essex area, but I can deliver over a wide area in the south - I travel a fair bit. Or I can ship it; your choice. Feel free to come and try it out. It has no case currently unless I can sell a nice padded soft one to you. Attached Thumbnails Thanks for looking
