Hey Gary. That's really sad. Having seen DefunkT a few times, you were/are a good band. You all worked well together. Have a really good night. We'd come along, but Mrs G is laid up with a bad back.
-
Any videos? Recordings? What genre do you play? (Other than left-handed, obviously)

@ash I got a reply. He's got someone going round tonight. He'll be back to me if they don't buy.

Hold on a minute.... a while back there was a guy on Gumtree selling a USA 1970s Fender for silly money. I'm sure he was claiming to be in Aberdeen. It was a scam. He works on the basis that folk will ask for it to be posted, but the bass never arrives. If it looks too good to be true... it almost certainly is too good to be true.

I've also sent a text, but not had a response yet.

Ugly tree is working hard this week

Not sure what he thinks is "Warwick style" about that apart from 2+2 heads and natural wood. -
Don't forget with iOS being on both phones and computers the site is now the same site on mobile and computer. So if you use a bigger font to suit the mobile interface it would probably be massive on the computer screen. Besides, this is probably fixed in the software and the BC mods won't have a lot of control on this. If they did then changing the font would cause creators of some sites to fall into having issues of spacing of fonts causing graphics problems. I'm sure it's all a fine balance to get it all looking right.

Hey Ped, please deduct 3 likes from this man. He's doing FAR too well already.

@ped Many thanks. Maybe it just gets re-invented if you edit the spelling/content. But I'm getting it everytime.

I've seen the new, exciting Sticky note as you open the home page, telling me to go and look at certain pages about the features. I've clicked the "X" to close the sticky and gone to the thread; as instructed, but it KEEPS coming up every time I come to BC. Are they timed to die at some stage? Am i missing something I should do to kill this thing?... Please?

Ohh... deep thinking there @bubinga5. Nahhhh... doubt it's that clever. Maybe Jaco got the greasy fingers idea from stoopid dudes saying "wow, it plays like butter".

FWIW SBL Academy has been running on this new site software since I joined it about 2 years back. Yes, IMHO there does seem to be a lot of wasted space compared the the older version we were running. This is more apparent when you're viewing it on a phone and you feel there are fewer items on the screen and there is more scrolling needed. That said, software updates are less about look and more about site security and compatibility with new OS software, so like it or not, the old version will stop being supported by the suppliers and will come to a stage of not working at all on some OSs. Regrettably we have to move with the times. ...And I STILL can't "Like" anything! (I used all my allocation up by going silly on a thread yesterday)

Hey @gary mac many thanks. Hope you're well. I'm sure it'll be fine as long as I take it slow.

No, I told you it wouldn't

LOL @Les you need to have friends in higher places. Actually, try typing @discreet or @Happy Jack or @charic and see what happens. Start typing it and a list of people comes up.

Right, had her back indoors again. Eased off the truss rod completely, turned the screw on the clamp some more and did the TR back up again. Reason for doing this is I was concerned that I might not have enough of a curve going on and didn't want to have the clamp rip the TR. Probably best to leave it now for the rest of the week. Back outside now.

@Les I like this way of getting your attention in a thread without quoting you.

Yep, been there... Won't spoil the surprise for others.

Home now and able to take a better look at the bass. Having measured the gaps again, it seems the neck is currently bowed by 3.5 - 4mm. Not as much as Dave bends his in this film at 5.50mins. So I've given the neck another small twist to the clamp. I'm dreading hearing a creak of the wood splitting.

Problems with my bass's wiring, please help!
Grangur replied to ForbiddenWytch's topic in Repairs and Technical
@ForbiddenWytch fair play. The 2 amps he referred to probably are the amp heads then. So how this works must be by having the 2 pickups as 2 totally separate circuits wired to the 2 jacks. If you wire them to a single jack the tone control can only influence the tone of both pups. The problem is *we* look at 2 sections of a circuit and think of them as not related and autonomous. The problem of electronics is, no matter how nicely you talk to it, it sees the bass, amp pedals etc, all as 1 single circuit. So if, you..... Hold on. I had a circuit once... I had a baaa with 2 volumes an 2 tones. If worked after fashion, but the tone control was pathetic. -
Reactions are rationed though. I've just used up my limit for today.

Man I hate this. They have it on SBL. Hopefully it will be ok here (with the higher average age.) It all gets stupid when quantity of likes gets taken as a member rank. SBL even posts who got most likes in the past month... urghhh. Can we please establish here and now. I'm an unsociable got and I don't like anyone.
