1.
A potential buyer made a very good point indeed. As I bought this amp 19/10/17 and it is virtually unused I should still be able to return it, so I just emailed the shop and if a return is possible I will take it off sale. I shall post an update.
Was just about to ask the same. Good luck.
 2. If you look at the back of the headstock, you may find the model number there with the serial number.
 3. Bump Looks like I'm withdrawing and keeping this for a bit. Lets see how it goes to the weekend...
 4. Congratulations on the new bass. Sure those humbuckers will serve you well.
 5. Nothing wrong in what you've got. I use a Mark Bass LM3 and a Barefaced One10.
 6. FWIW I think your budget should get you a good used bass. The fingerboards I've played, in order of preference, have been ebony, purpleheart, ebonol and rosewood. When buying any fretless, remove the strings and run your hand down the the length to feel all down the fingerboard for slight lunps/ dips. Any slight dips will spoil the Mwahhh. Knowing your tastes as I do, these variations in the sound would bug you.
 7. Just bought a couple of basses from Pat. Many thanks, Pat, for a nice easy transaction. Good communication and a pleasure to deal with.
 8.
I don't expect Mike Dirnt has to carry his cabs up the back stairs of a social club, or through a crowd of drunken punters and past a taxi rank to where his hatchback is parked on double yellow lines with the hazards on. Just sayin'

Yep, no roadies unfortunately! Plus, for the price of a fender neo 610, which is what he’s currently using I believe, I can get pretty much any cab as I think they’re around £1000!
Thanks JA. It never occurred to me that the OP won't be appearing at the O2 sometime soon. I was more thinking about the sound that would come from the size and type of driver. So, would a 210 would possibly be a good choice?
 9. You could start by looking at the gear Mike Dirnt uses. His cabs appear to mostly be 410 an 610. http://equipboard.com/pros/mike-dirnt
 10. If this IS TL selling it, then he's not shy of trying to screw money out of fans is he? Hate to say this Tony, old chap, but Peter Gabriel was the celebrity, as you know.
 11. Great job, Paul. Where's the gig? Just in case anyone reading here fancies a good evening out.
 12. Joking aside. Pics will help you sell this bass. GLWTS
 13.
Thanks And replied
And replied.
 14.
To do it well will cost more than the £75 or so you'll need to pay on eBay to buy an equivalent quality fretless Neck, there’s a thread on here somewhere about low cost maple fretless necks, worth checking out.
This /\ That's £75 to stand still in terms of value. I'd definitely get another neck made if it were mine.
 15.
Put on a final Tru-Oil coat - so I reckon 8 in total, which was satin sheen enough, deep enough, but not too glossy. Neck was bolted on, and strap buttons fitted: Next stage will be Bridge, then wiring up once the bits arrive in the week (!) and then on to final fit out and adjust. Total build time will be 2 weeks I reckon (mostly due to Tru-Oil drying)

I love a natural finish - I can't get why after nature has spent years creating a beautiful grain somebody comes along and covers it with paint.. Each to their own I suppose..
That natural finish looks great. Have to agree with Mick here. Really nice looking bass you have there.
 16. Boiled linseed oil. Put it on a soft cloth, paper towel or kitchen roll and wipe it on. Leave for a few minutes and wipe it off. Pretty much the same as rosewood really.
 17.
I used to meet up to buy or sell gear and the chat was usually about BC, bass playing, gear or gigs. Now we usually cut to the chase, aches, pains and lightweight gear! Sign of the times.
Man, you've got me worrying. I've got a bubinga 9.75 lb bass incoming.. Have I pushed it too far?
I had steroid injections for rotator cuff tendonitis (knackered shoulder) and despite shitting myself because of all the scare stories I'd heard, I didn't feel a thing and it worked. So it's not always bad! At the risk of stating the terribly obvious - if your playing hurts then you need to stop doing whatever you are doing. Lighter bass, wider strap, sit down even (the world won't end).
... and I always play sitting down as it is!
 18.
Tennis elbow, that's bloody painful! Mine went away on it's own. Took a while though.
Think I've got that now. Had a problem elbow for some time, but right now it's not going well. I just read it can take 6-12 months! Playing wider necks too low down doesn't help it much. So it's back to 4 strings only.
 19. Hey! A fellow Tennis Elbow "owner"! Have a bump, Brother. Oh! "Withdrawn", never mind. Good luck with the elbow.
 20. Interesting reading. Many thanks
 21. Don't know about the Korean ones. I've got a German fretless LX. I'm loving the tone from it. It's a great bass. Good luck with yours
