3.
Is this still for sale?
Hi John, sorry, I don't even remember this one! I'll mark it as "gone" Have a great day.
4. Here's another good video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3qjIghZxHc Here's another good video
5. Credit where it's due. It looks like the body, neck and all components are from a good source. You have to really work at it to make a start like that look like an Encore-level item; and boy, has he done well at it. Mind you: Small body + 5-in-line tuners = possible serious neck dive?
6. Before you do any of that, how flat is it? Are we talking a slight ripple, or is it like the Chiltern Hills? Maybe you should get a sanding block and some glass paper and get the head flat to start. THEN start again with the fine grades and re-spray it. You're due over my place. I have a sander, or I can fix you up with some coarse paper and some finer grades to get it flat. I might well have some lacquer too as you won't need much. I'm sure I've got some cans hanging about. Even if the cans I've got are semi-gloss, one of those will give you some thickness.to the lacquer.
7.
I can muck in here, Im in Rugeley (Staffordshire) ...standard set ups and lower tuning set ups, solder repairs, preamp fitting, some body work repairs (depending on severity and finish type), cavity shielding / grounding, plus a bit of damaged truss rod nut removal type of thing.
Many thanks. You're on the list
8.
http://www.affairsof...-for-sale-hire/ Don't know them and I know nothing about harps, but I rather like their name.
That's a private house! Man, it must be cramped in there if they actually hold stock.
9. My daughter is a harpist. Not s lot of experience in selling, but we sold one successfully on Evilbay.
10. How much does she love the genre you play? How much does she really want to do it? If she wants it, she'll be able to break free from the dots.
11. Mick can certainly make up a good story.
12. If she's stolen them and given them away to deserving, promising young violinists I could forgive her. But destruction is beyond the pale.
13. Have to confess to being a Warwick fan, but this did have me say "oh, wow!" That bass is seriously nice. How well does it hang on the strap? What does it weigh?
14.
My advice would be to start playing VERY SLOWLY and with a metronome/drum machine/app (even though you can probably play fast already). At this very slow speed you can listen to the different in timbre between the two fingers as they alternate. Make micro adjustments until the tone and volume is as equal as you can get it. Because you're working so slowly at this point (40 bpm say/4 in a bar) you'll have bags of time to really think about, and look at what's happening. Once you feel you're 'there' increase tempo by say 10-15 bpm (keep it fairly random). Then do the same at this new speed. Repeat until you max out. Do this every day for a week and I guarantee you'll see positive results! :-) Hope that helps... Scott.
This /\ At slow speed your brain has time to learn and develop muscle-memory. If you play fast you will always know it's not working but it won't stick. (Or so I heard, from people more knowledgeable than me.)
15.
How did you do that?! (Grrr, PhotoBucket)
I'm most of the "share" scripts Flickr give you, there is a small section you actually need. Paste the whole thing into notepad and look for a section that goes "https://.. .jpg". Then all you need is the (img) and (/img) except use square brackets, at each end. Then post that script in your post. Don't worry about using the "picture" button ot anything.
16.
Possibly the existing pots are 500k which are usually quite harsh and 'middly'. The best P bass tone I've found is with both pots at 250k and a .47 cap. CTS are very good, stick an orange drop in and you should get every P bass sound up and down the tone pot. If you really want to experiment, fit a 0.1 cap in if you want to grab that swampy reggae rumble any time.
Corrected. LW is right. Check the pots.
17.
Just sorting out new photo hosting bump. Here we go
Oh the excitement!
18. One man's "worse" is another man's "punchy" or "massive". So, in what way does it sound worse?

20. Nice looking woods Jez. Looking forward to seeing this one.
21. Hey Eric, Both your basses look amazing. I so wish I could justify jumping in there and taking one from you. Choosing between them is so hard! GLWTS
22. Warwick sell replacement necks on an exchange basis. But they're not cheap.
23.
Sorry to hear about this. This must be very frustrating and annoying. Each time I read about this happening it usually starts with ....."stolen out of my car/ the band van....."
Sorry to hear of this, mate. I wonder how many landlords/promoters are aware of there being a problem with someone watching and following vans home and breaking in after a gig, but say nothing because, if they did they'd not get any bands?
24. Add to this studybass.com There's some good theory there and fretboard charts.
25. Hey Hipster, Please can you edit the title to say "Sold", so the Mods find it to lock it and stop folk from looking. Pleased you sold it btw. Have a great weekend
