1. I've got SD p-bas quarter pounders SPB-3 and a set of p-bass Jess Louriero hand wound "Classic" p-bass pups.
 2. It must have been about 2011 or 2012 that I bought my Warwick Streamer LX fretless. It's a cool bass, great "dark-chocolate" tone and a smooth neck. When i first got it I played it a fair bit, but I'd often go back to fretted when I got fed up of the wining, sitar-like sound. Well, I picked it up yet again last night and at last I feel I'm really getting into the fretless. I might even go find a 5er to expand it with. I've sold other basses in the interim time, but something kept me from parting with the fretless. Something told me selling would be wrong. Has anyone else taken this long, or longer to get into a bass or a technique? That's the one.. I think 5 string could be another long journey for me too.
 3.
Has anybody put an Audi badge on their Skoda?
But using a Fender logo is more akin to using a Ford badge. I saw someone on here ages back go to a lot of trouble to build himself a really classy bass. It was all handmade. Then he put a Fender logo on it. So there was a beauty of a bass pretending to be mass production. I never understood that.
 4.
Sold pending
That's fine for you. Could you please edit the title so others don't waste time visiting your thread?
 5. I occasionally come up to Norwich and would be happy to oblige, but I won't be able to be there until early May. So have a bump.
 6.
too flippin' right! Bargain.
Could you please edit the title to help the mods, and save me looking?
 7.
And if the bodies were made from multiple pieces the joins would need to be in the same place on each body, bonded with the same type and amount of glue.
1. Who's paying for all of this? 2. Can I please have one when you're throwing them out at the end?
 8. There's nowt wrong with a 6 string http://youtu.be/gxbF0mUrP3k Welcome to BC
 9.
Hey Rich Did this sell?
Bad news and more bad news. Naahhhh... But I'm getting to like it again. D@mn it!! Am I still selling? The jury is out. I'm off on hols and will think about it again when I get back.
 10. And all the bodies need to be cut to the same shape and depth. Otherwise the size of the piece of wood could have an effect. This will be an interesting one for a Bass Bash. Where's Lozz when you need him?
 11. It seems to me that there are those who can't read who argue "there's no benefit". Has anyone who has learned ever said "it useless, I wish I'd not bothered"?
 12.
Its active. I will be changing all the pots anyway. Might also use a push push volume pot to allow active/passive switching.
In which case you will need the pots to be the same impedance as the originals. They're likely to be 25Kohm.
 13.
Because ebonol makes a horrid clacky sound when the strings touch it (on a fretless) - yuck. I would seriously love to take part in a scientifically controlled tonewood blind test.
Regretfully it will never happen. Finding enough basses that are identical in every way possible except the body wood is rather unlikely. Lozz did a similar test of rosewood and maple necks, at the Herts Bass Bash. The rosewood neck basses were consistently more punchy than the maple neck ones. But that, of course, was pure coincidence.
 14. If this was a 5er with a 2+3 headstock it would be gone. Really nice bass
 15. The people I feel sorry for are the people working on the plantations of Indian Rosewood. The US speaks and all of a sudden all the trees they have been growing for the last 20 years have potentially dropped in price. They might even be worthless! Who's going to pay their food and housing bills now?
 16.
Read the small print of whoever you go with, often musical instruments aren't covered in the insurance, though they'll still take your money.
And sometimes, where they do cover instruments, they need to be in a hard case.
 17. I've used DPD a few times. They have forgotten to pick up for 3 days on a couple of occasions, but the basses arrived intact.
 18.
Edit to say also that it's not that difficult to get the required paperwork (in bulk) for companies like Fender. So I'd be surprised if they stopped all together throughout the range
But it will give Fender an opportunity to increase the cost for "custom shop" instruments for those looking to still be able to buy a rosewood fingerboard neck. Or is that too cynical?
 19.
I'm struggling a bit, but plugging away. I've come to bass from saxophone, so I have some transferable skills, but its very different having so many different places to find any given note. I think I might tape over the tab at the bottom of the score on the stuff I'm working on, as the temptation is to just use the score for the rhythm and tab for pitch.
Don't worry about where to play. If it doesn't work out in the first position then try again playing up near the 7th fret. It gets easier. You did try some pieces here; http://basschat.co.uk/topic/215336-learning-to-read-the-dots-sheet-music-to-learn-with/page__fromsearch__1
 20. Is this a passive bass? Are you making it passive? If not, watch for the resistance of the original pots. That might limit your options.
 21.
So my prewall Mexi P bass with rosewood board is gonna be worth MEGA BUCKS !!!!!11
You'll be long gone before you see any difference in the value... IMHO of course.
 22. Chicago - Chicago II Not exactly a recent release, it has some great bass and variety.
 23.
Very tempting - what's itvweigh and what's the nut width? Thanks
Nut width 38mm Weight 4kg apparently.
 24. I'm sure the main advantage of the rosewood over the replacement timber will only be that rosewood was slightly cheaper per cubic yard. The tone might possibly be a tad different, but if you don't believe in tonewood then you won't have anything to stress over. That said, if you don't believe in tonewood then why not go for ebonol and a plastic-foam, lightweight body. [/gripe]
 25.
EQ pedal is a good idea. Loads out there but a good cheap one often overlook is the Hartke VXL You can find it second hand for £40 and for what it does it's a steal
Good thoughts, and please excuse my ignorance, but if GuitarRig5 and Amplitube3 are unable to handle the bass frequencies will boosting the bass with an EQ do anything constructive? After all, isn't GuitarRig5 more suited to guitar than bass? The vid doesn't mention bass. http://youtu.be/bWXjRj3AUWg What might be better is a Scarlet 2i2 and a good set of headphones.
