1. I use a Barefaced One10 and a MarkBass LM3. I transport them together in one bag. I know it's not quite what you're looking for, but the sound is pretty impressive and you seem to like Barefaced.
 2.
...the Vamp is currently in "The Land of Dracula"
Where else? (Romania, for those reading on a mobile phone)
 3. Wow, so is this what Fender were building basses like baxk in 1499? That's incredible how little they've changed.
 4. Hi Phil, Welcome from Stortford. See you around
 5. That looks amazing. Congrats on the new addition.
 6. If it's the knob, rather than the pot, someone is trying to sell some in the BC marketplace. I guess it depends on the colour you need. Also delivery costs from Warwick and Thomanm aren't as expensive as you say they are.
 7.
Here's a couple of articles to put it in context, one from the Guardian, and one from the Sun (for the sake of parity). It's actually looking like a lot more than 50%, over 100% in some cases. Many small businesses are going to go under.
Yes, but look at the improvement in the carbon footprint with no cars driving in the town centre! The car parks are no longer stuffed to over-flowing and they won't have the cost of building a new one. Oh, the future is so bright!
 8.
No one's being ripped off. For whatever reason, if you don't shop around then the price you pay is what you've decided to pay. Your decision. You can't blame the shop if you discover the same thing cheaper. Do more homework or don't buy in a rush.
True. If we all bought all our strings from the high-street shops their prices could be lower. The fact is the shop owners know we all buy from Amazon, Stringsdirect and the others. So they know that the time we go to the high-street it's a "distress purchase". And as we clearly don't have the luxury of the choice of waiting for the postman, he can charge a price at which he will make a small profit. Yes, I do mean a small profit. It's not a rip-off. The fact is StringsDirect and Amazon will buy at massively discounted prices. They also get other benefits from the suppliers too that the high-street retailers don't get. I know this as I've also worked as a supplier of products to Dixons, Amazon, etc.
 9. Having owned a shop in the past, the rates was a very considerable overhead. It's like the Council is another member of staff - only that one doesn't do much. They don't even take much rubbish away. You have to take out a contract with a private company to get that done.
 10.
Why doesn't everyone have what ACG had, where you can just plug in with headphones and really hear the sound of the bass? Seems such an obvious way to do it but as far as I could see he was the only one. As a result, the ACGs were the only ones I actually know what they sound like without a huge bass rumble.
This is why I decided, even after buying tickets, not to bother after all. All considered, tt would be better to go to The Gallery or Denmark Street. I'm interested in an Overwater, but I can wait until another chance comes up.
 11.
Sorry if this has been posted before! Had a look online and Thomann sell loads of spares but the shipping is 30 euros, for a £5 volume knob... Anyone know of any UK distributors where I can get spares from? Cheers, J.
It might help if we know what parts you're looking for?
 12. I went on Friday and collected a Gotoh bridge from Mike. Had a nice chat and a cuppa and met his lovely wife. Could have chatted for hours, but, alas I had to get back to work. Many thanks mike.
 13.
or these, good strings at good value http://www.stringsdi...s-3-pack-p10254 and Ive gigged these suckers, no complaints https://www.thomann....itar_medium.htm
Yep, that. I guess it's those inconsiderate workers in the UK factory that want to earn cash money! And they want to eat! And live in brick houses! I guess you could resort to making your own if you think you can do it cheaper.
 14. Sorry. I was trying to be helpful. Have another bump though.
 15.
If you're looking for non expensive bass, check these two https://musicsquare.co.uk/148328_Yamaha-TRBX-304-BL-bass-guitar-black.html https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SR400EQMFBB
Don't forget to add on the import cost and VAT when looking at buying a bass from the USA.
 16.
Is £330 a reasonable price for a MiM Jazz 2001 with a few scratches?
Yes, that sounds like a good deal to me.
 17. First thing to do is pull out the volume control. That will switch the bass into passive mode. That will isolate the battery and the pre-amp from the situation. If that doesn't resolve the issue, unsolder the connections to the Jack and re-solder them onto a spare Jack, even if it's only hanging out the back. If you're anywhere near me if be happy to take a look.
 18. I tend to disagree with the OP. I'm getting concerned that Rockbasses are going up in price, but German Corvettes are sticking in price.
 19.
Haven't checked, but I'm assuming there's parking at Olympia? Also, does anyone take a bass with them or not?
There is, but it's expensive and for big shows it gets full very quickly. It's far better to drive so far, then jump on the underground. Beaten to it.
 20.
This is a dilemma. If its a design fault, and it might be an isolated one at best, then you need to decide if you really need string through body, at the expense of losing a good bass. It sounds silly that it doesn't work as advertised, but in my experience string through body is not a deal breaker.
Bass Guitar magazine asked this question of a number of top luthiers : does through stringing make a difference? They all said "no. What matters is the 2 break angles, at the nut and bridge. Nothing else matters".
 21.
If anyone else wants tickets for Sunday, I have two going begging. It would be a shame to shred them.
Me too.
 22. I've got 2 tickets for Sunday going begging: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/301505-for-sale-2-lbgs-tickets-sunday-5th-march/page__pid__3249471#entry3249471 Any takers?
