1. You say "for sale till other bussines its aviable." Does this mean it's for sale until you get another gig? Sorry, I'm a bit confused. Also, I guess you may not be in the UK? As most people reading this will be in the uk giving us the shipping cost would be good. Welcome to Basschat
2.
Nope - the travis/bigsby guitar in the country museum hall of fame in Nashville predates the strat by a long way as far as I know. https://www.vintageguitar.com/1807/bigsby-merle-travis-electric-guitar/ Not a good photo but the story is there including dates and of course there are others.
I was being sarcastic. A bit of a dig at those who seem to think Leo Fender invented the original guitar shaped instrument.
3. Last bump before the sale goes through on EvilBay Offers?

5. Just been listening to this in the car. A good number of the tracks have a funky blues vibe going on. Is your Guitard good enough for Clapton? "I Shot the Sherriff" , "Willy and the Hand jive" and a few others http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-6GO4UhErQ
6.
Unless you're talking about the original Boroadcaster/Tele, Leo pinched it off Bigsby & just simplified it a bit:
Surely you MUST mean Bigby found out what Fender were going to do and exaggerated it a bit? After all Leo invented Everything guitar related didn't he?
7. Sold a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 to Hector. All went really well. Would be very happy to deal with him again. Many thanks
8. I like a 2+2 or 3+2 style - like a Warwick in fact. I was actually thinking it could be interesting to see if folk could actually come up with some good designs. After all, I don't think it's going to be easy to come up with anything that's good to look at, not a look-a-like, but still has the function. Dingwall's look good too I dig the sexy routing
9. I was just reading another thread and saw this post:
Always fascinated by these. Ugliest headstock ever. But, I would.
OK this is taken out of context here, but this is something some folk often say when what they see isn't a Fender. This got me thinking. Is the Fender headstock attractive, or simply familiar? What makes a headstock attractive? So, why not see what happens if some of us try to design a headstock? THE only rules I'd add are; 1- It has to be functional 2- it has to be original; unique to you, no spouts of the old mantra "Leo got it right" Anyone interested?
10.
Horrendously tempting.
What more do you need to know?
11.
Hey Rich Tuning on the D and G is spot on when the string is both open and the harmonic is pinched. It's only when you fret that it's out.
Then what you're seeing is the effect of the string being under greater tension changing the tuning and therefore the intonation as you fret the note. A number of my basses do that. I use Elixirs and can't really perfect the intonation on my Warwick basses. If you fi d an answer I'm interested. So far I've just accepted that it's all part of life.
12.
Really nice, what are the neck laminations made of? Sorely tempting!
The wood looks mainly to be red mahogany as the colour and grain does appear to be the same as the body. The dark wood of the fingerboard has a grain like wenge, but it's darker than the wenge in my Warwick basses. But it's very likely to be a Japanese wood. So it could be Japanese wenge. It certainly isn't ebony as the grain is too course. I also know there's no paint finish to the neck or fingerboard as, when I got it, the fingerboard was varnished. It used stripper to remove any varnish.
13.
Sone folk are just looking for stuff to get upset about though.
Funny, I did think that could have been the case at the time. We all move on...
14. Are they selling a bass or a can of the stuff? Man, they employ some strange folk in Fender's marketing department.
15. Paul, I know you have your action set pretty low, but have you tried setting the intonation using harmonics, rather than fretting the note? Just thinking it might eliminate the matter of string stretch as you fret and test for other issues.
16. 'scuse me for being thick, but why do you want longer screws? The strain on the screw is, after all, sideways, not out-wards. So if the hole is getting too big, fill the hole with a glued in cocktail-stick and keep with the same screw? The original screw may, of course be chewed up, but that's another matter.
17. Unless there are significant dips in the frets the question of whether the neck needs a refret is never clearcut. If the frets are simply worn and re-dressed down to half their original height deciding on the question of a refret is down to the owner. It also calls into question the integrity of the luthier, who could be a little over eager to get the refret work. In your situation I would be miffed if asked for some recompense for the work as I would have done it myself if it had needed doing. I don't doubt you too would have found a more economic option. As others have said, the time to contact you was before the work was done. Now its down to him. I hope he's happy with the work.
18.
Don't forget to add ellipsis if Otherwise you could unintentionally misrepresent the OP.
Sometimes some folk have got quite upset when I've sellected parts only from a quote, even with the "...".
19. Hey Markus Gruß Gott! Welcome to Basschat. I used to visit Munich for work some years ago. It's a great place. I too would like a 1959 bass: my YOB.
20. Here's a link to the best on the market
21. Please can you tell me the nut width and strings spacing? I'm interested in this, but I've just been playing a couple of other 5ers i own and come to the conclusion that one needs to go as it's too narrow.
22. When I looked at doing this I came to the conclusion that the sweet spot for the MM is right behind the P pup, with hardly a gap. Not being a massive fan of the clipped bridge pup tones, I gave up on the idea, but each to their own.
