I'm trying to identify the strings that are currently on my 69 Fender P. They were on the bass when I bought it last year from the original owner. He said that the strings had been on for 30 years! But they still sound great. What i know: There are silks on the ball end only (Green or Blue? I don't know, i'm colour blind) No silk on the other end. No taper. Roundwound. Brass ball ends. For sale is the bass case that was supplied with my Fender Precision bass back in 1969. It is debatable whether it is an original Fender case or not, but it certainly has the 60s mojo thing going (it actually doesn't smell too bad either!). I an therefore pricing it at what I think is a sensible price i.e. not ebay 'vintage Fender bass case' price Please see my listing in 'Bass Guitars' for a discussion in the topic plus photos. Trade wise I'm interested in a P 62ri Tort pickguard, gig bag or perhaps some reverse tuners.
