1. Hi, I am looking at replacing my Aguilar Octamiser as I don’t use it that much and looking to get an octave pedal that’s a bit more adventurous. The EarthQuaker devices bit commander looked really fun and wondered if anyone had some experiences with it? I wanted to ask how good it is as a stand alone octave pedal especially in the tracking department as that is where I felt the Aguilar wasn’t very good. I also wanted to ask how crazy the synth function can be, to experiment with. Any experiences with the pedal or any other options for octaves pedals with extra functions would be great. Thanks for reading this. Rick
2. Lovely board. i hope you are on commission 😃
3. Would love an AO but the sand amp is just too reliable to replace
4. Thanks, I played around a lot with this but like the attack I get when the b3k is first. Both sound good though
5. Wanted to post my board on here. Iv had the same setup for a while now and love reverb and drive sounds. The one I don’t really use is the octamiser, which is a shame. id also like to add another drive in like the darkglass alpha onega or microtubes for some heavier stuff, but not sure yet.
6. Thanks for all the advice guys. I play with a floating thumb, but I am trying more tapping, so I’ll give one a go soon and post feedback. thanks again
7. The more choices the better
8. Hi, Iv been looking at playing around with different sounds and techniques and come across a few videos of people using fret wraps. This may have been covered before but I just wanted to ask people about opinions and experiences of using them with different styles of music. Thanks, Rick
9. Nice, Iv found it depends how loose you want the sound. I like the b3k gives to the fuzz sound

Reverb?

I love having a bit of reverb. Got both a hall of fame 2 and an earthquake master dispatch. I find the master dispatch has a much nicer, rounded reverb but love playing with the hall of fame 2 shimmer and mash effects. Iv started a few gigs and songs by starting with the shimmer.
11. Awesome pedalboard! i love having both a b3k and duality. Tried it both ways but prefer the duality after the b3k as I like to put fuzz over an overdrive sound.
12. Hi, I have been looking to upgrade my earthquaker master dispatch and wanted to ask about any alternatives as an upgrade which would give more reverb and delay options. I love the look of the Keeley caverns with two separate switches and at a good price. Has anyone got experience of this pedal? Please let me know if you have any other suggests too. Cheers Rick
13. Haha, that's awesome, great that they want more bass
14. Awesome, thanks so much for the comments, really glad you liked it. I used a fender jaguar and Vt sans amp going straight into the desk and for some of the reverb/delay areas I used a Earthquaker, dispatch master. Thanks for the tips on mixing, as you say it's just more experience and just always trying to get better.
15. Hey dude, Really love this track, really awesome sound and the range of vocals really bring out the atmosphere in the track. Also best band name I have heard in a long time. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
16. Really awesome sound, love the bass tone on this recording, Congratulations. Love the catchy chorus too, stuck in my head now
17. Hi, Thanks so much for the feedback and sorry for the late reply. Live the songs actually sound a bit different as I pad out the bass with a few pedals, leaving the guitar to focus on solos and riffs a bit more. Thanks again for the great comments about the music, the recording was done quite quickly, so maybe in future we can focus a bit more on that, but overall we are really proud of it. Something to improve in future.
18. Hi Everyone, My band BearWolves released an EP this last week and I wanted to share it here. It is free to download and we would really love to hear any feedback on the songs, as its the only way to get better and see what works and doesn't. I would also be interested in any constructive criticism on my bass playing, to help me improve. A bit of background, we are a female fronted, London based band, with influences such as Audioslave, Black Sabbath, Queens of the Stone Age, Incubus and Deftones. The link to the EP is at https://bearwolves.b...lbum/bearwolves and our website is www.bearwolves.com Thanks so much for looking, Cheers, Rick

20. Thanks that is awesome, I will look at the overdrive circuit and the recommendations for homemade fuzz pedals. I'm not confident in building pedals but would like to get into it and learn. Just seen the alpha omega from Darkglass, that's pretty much what i want, but that price tag...
21. There seems to be a lot of love for the Jaguars. I love mine with the two single coils, has so many variable tones. I m having trouble tracking down the American standard version, so think I'm going to shell out and go for the Dingwall ng-2.
22. Cool thanks for the advice. I own both individual pedals but would love to create a hybrid monster. Ideally I would like switches for each part as you say, but a blend between the fuzz and overdrive so when they are both on they give a new sound. Are there any known cool diy fuzz circuits out there?
23. Awesome, great to know the p/j version is worth it. I have the version with two single coils, but need a backup, so thought id look into this version. Shame there arnt many around. Its either the jaguar or the Dingwall combustion ng2
24. Hi Everyone, I have been looking at creating my own effects pedal and have in my head a single pedal that has both overdrive and fuzz capabilities in one box that would switched off and on independently. Looking at a darkglass b3k and duality fuzz combo. I wanted to ask if firstly is this just a silly idea and then if anyone has created one before? Thanks, any suggestions welcome, Cheers Rick
25. Hi Everyone, I am trying to track down a fender American standard jaguar bass with the p/j pickups. http://intl.fender.com/en-GB/basses/jaguar/american-standard-jaguar-bass-rosewood-fingerboard-3-color-sunburst/ However they have been discontinued, and I cant find any second hand. I wanted to ask if anyone has any experience with these basses and was there any reason they were discontinued? It seems they were stopped quite quickly after they came out, so wondered if they had any issues? Cheers Rick
