  1. Sold a while ago, forgot to change the listing. Sorry...
  2. G&l Sb-2 Tribute. Jazz width neck, but deeper in depth. Pj, with phenomenal mfd pickups. Great value for money, sounds fantastic with flats
  3. Similar to Adamg67's post, 2 above,. Have you tried changing strings? Sounds stupid, but a different 'type' of string can make a big difference. White nylon LaBellas, for instance, can really change the tone/feel. Also, TI rounds are a bit of a revelation...
  4. Thanks all.
  5. I think I know this is a dumb question, but can you use any strings on an acoustic bass? Or do the pins at the bridge dictate 'special' strings?
  6. Temporary moment of mild madness - £550 delivered...
  7. Truss rod works fine. Turns readily both ways. Electrics work well. Just occasionally, the bridge pickup goes quiet when the neck pup gets turned down. Can't quite work out whether it's a loose wire... Very intermittent, though, and always functions properly with the neck pup...
  8. Bought from here not so long ago, but the bass this was subbing for appeared at a discount, so now back for sale again. It's a Columbus Jazz, a previous owner tried to remove the paint job, revealing an interesting construction: it's a front to back sandwich of two pieces of (I think) mahogany, with front and back veneers of - something else... Can't tell what. It has obviously been in this state for many years, cos it looks just like the cover of 'School's Out', lots of mojo. Ironically, for a budget bass, from only a short distance away, it looks like an expensive burled top, something exotic. It plays very well, I balanced the pickups, so now sounds even better. The pickups are quieter than the average, but sound great when turned up (as they should be). The bridge looks like an expensive after market jobbie, 3D adjustable. It's wearing heavy gauge Marusczcyk flats at the moment, and tuned down to BEAD. It sounds thunderous, and only slightly rattly with downtuning. Delivered in the UK inside its own hardcase for one hundred of your english pounds. Can't say fairer than that, guv....
  9. Price drop to £625 delivered...
  10. I had a C5, it was great. Preamp/pickups work really well together. Don't remember it being incredibly light, but it certainly wasn't heavy. I would recommend them...
  11. I second the above post. If its an Aerosilk piezo, you'll be laughing--they're excellent
  12. La Bella White nylon tape wounds with a piezo bridge, on a semi hollow body = superb DB-like tone. Real girth and texture to the notes...
  13. Cheers. It looks like I've missed out on the bass I was after, though. If so, I'll withdraw the Ashula...
  14. I've not had this very long, but I have loved almost everything about it, it's only offered for sale as I have seen something on sale here I've been after for a long while, so needs must... 7 strings: 3 fretless, piezo bridge, active vol/tone, 24 positions 4 fretted strings, 2 single coil pickups, vol/bal/bass/treble, 22 frets 3 way switch - fretted/fretless/both. This combination makes for an extremely versatile instrument--I've strung the fretted side with piccolos, downtuned to DGCF, then tuned the fretless side GCF. The contrast between the two (warm, wooly fretless, crisp, clear fretted) is rather lovely, and makes experimentation very appealing. I will include the piccolos and the regular rounds in the sale. It plays excellently strung 'normally' as well. The fretted side is big and heavy in tone, and the Aerosilk piezo bridge is just fantastic (I have it on 2 other Ibanez's).Very responsive to player input. Condition is almost brand new, tried to picture the only 2 scuffs I could find. The burl top absolutely glows, the jatoba fingerboard is really pretty, etc etc. As always, when I list a bass for sale, I'm asking myself "why am I selling this lovely thing?", but I can't have too many basses (can I...) £675 delivered within the UK, in it's own, rather fetching hard case, complete with embroidered logo! These were quite a limited edition, so should rise in value, and it has all the usual Ibanez build quality and reliability... Thanks for reading...
  15. It's not a mahogany body by any chance, is it?
  16. Meant to post the sky blue one, sorry
