  1. Oh no! I've been getting in to their stuff on YouTube. I love the old Fender spring reverb he has and of course I pay extra special attention to the bass playing 😇
  2. Didn't that a$$ hat Phil Collins make a total dogs dinner of it on the drums too?
  3. What also rankles is when you know you're a good entertaining band. Sure, not the best out there but pretty good with a different selection of songs. Engaging with punters, nice clean teeth.. you know, and yet you struggle to get into a venue that you see three or four decidedly substandard bands getting regular bookings. Not blowing smoke up our on bots, but it does get rather frustrating, especially when you find out the booker rarely ever sees the bands.
  4. Overrated: My playing abilities as per undue adulation from drunken punters post gig!
  5. Bought a bunch of part used strings from Tom and during the convo he said he had found some more and would throw them in too. What a star! Arrived in super fast time and I am more than happy to recommend Tom to anybody looking to buy or sell. Thanks again, I really appreciate your generosity. Mark
  6. Grabbed a set of strings from David and they arrived exactly as per the description and in quick time too. Easy to deal with and I'd be more than happy to buy from David again. Cheers!
  7. Maybe I should have put a big winking grinning emotie at the end of that 😁😉
  8. Ooh! I'll try that when I get home later.. though his microwave looks a bit different to mine.
  9. It was a total giggle! We were booked for a fancy dress party for some, well fans of the band I guess. The theme was Icons. So apart from 5 George Michaels, 6 Freddie Mercurys, 3 Slashes, 3 Elvis (what's the plural there?) and an equal number of Amy Winehouses (and lots of others of course) I'm happy there was only one me. A bass player? An icon? I had no other option!
  10. I have specifically NOT learnt Mustang Sally, just in case..😐
  11. Paul Jones - Manfred Mann did a pretty dire version of Pretty Vacant B/W Sheen Is A Punk Rocker
  12. I was just about to say Ramones - It's Alive Not necessarily better than the studio output, but TOTALLY captured their live excitement.
  13. Football club do. Drunken youngsters, beer and people all over the place. It was flippin' great!!
  14. Yeah, not a huge amount of space but there is a bit more along to the right of stage. I really like the sound there. (It's meant to be haunted and not just by a bunch of my bum notes 😁)
  15. Actually Friday, but it was a great night at our regular pub venue. Fantastic audience that was up and grooving pretty much all night long. Also my second outing with the 4x10 Ashdown cab I got from @richardd replacing the 1x15 and teamed up with the 2x10 I have used for aaages, so I'm running 6x10s 😃. Need to twiddle the fiddly knobs a bit more but it pounds!! HEFT baby!!
  16. Diamond Dave's entrance at 0:24.. superb!!
  17. I've applied some dots of a neon yellow nail varnish right next to the normal neck side dots and they seem to "glow" very well under fairly poor light.
  18. I dig the soft focus.. the focus of lurrrve ❤️
  19. Yes, it's Lipstick. The Damned's "There Ain't No Sanity Clause" heavily leans on that riff too.
  20. Nice to see some old legacy gear. Those cabs have done a few miles!
  21. Local boozer gig. All in all great! First half was OK, the second (we only managed a 5 min break) was ripping! I always play a P but decided to try my Ric first and I love it but things weren't flowing like they normally do. I guess I didn't have my "comfortable slippers" on and felt a bit edgy. Maybe that's why the first half wasn't so good, to me anyway. Got offered a gig elsewhere out of it so that's a plus too
  22. I believe their "set up" is next to Rickenbacker.
  23. This is fantastic on so many levels! The arguement about a broken string, and the TV audition are brilliant!😁 Nice vocal harmonizing though.
