  1. My old amp cover has just started to degrade. It's a foam backed vinyl and the foam is now turning to powder. It's lasted a good 10 years so fair enough. (I can't remember who made it. Black vinyl, white piping and it had a union flag stuck on the front corner). Anyway, It looks like it's going to be a Roqsolid one but I was just wondering is there anything else a weekend warrior like myself should consider or just stick with my initial choice. (I want a protective soft cover, not a flight case). Thanks Mark
  2. Oh, how do these work? Might solve a problem I have. Thanks
  3. And if you miss both the B and the C you get Boris Johnson 😁
  4. "You'd also be a fool to think he is not monitoring this thread." Well let's hope he has a very twitchy sphincter before his next gig then.
  5. Nicely rehearsed. The singer certainly has a unique stage presence....
  6. One of my most very favourite things ever!!
  7. Blimey πŸ˜ͺ R.I.P. Alasdair "Algy" Ward. Bass player with the The Saints, The Damned and Tank. The sound of that P bass being hammered for the intro to Love Song by The Damned fuelled the fires of tone for me.
  8. I think they've been over starched.
  9. Ahh the Digeridoo, that when someone goes to play one, is swiftly renamed Digeridon't!
  10. A post from him earlier - The Beast! 1972 Fender Precision fretless bass. (I have not changed these strings since Coachella, 2005. They’re loaded with mojo & sound like that should!) L & R rehearsal, LA. @loveandrocketsofficial
  11. Saw this on the socials earlier so thought I'd share it. Oh, I was also told he uses D'Addario Chromes.
  12. Wait until 60! πŸ˜ͺ
  13. That's exactly how I've done it. This was for a boost channel and all I wanted was to lift the output level a touch. Worked perfectly.
  14. Yes, I can hear you Clem Fandango.
  15. Ah! Yes! This was the what I had on playing in the back ground.
  16. Yes! Of course! Andy Warren laid down some great bass lines on DWWS. It's still an all time fav album for me. Watching Leigh play live with BWW, he does throw in a bit of manic slap as well as pick playing.
  17. I accidentally listened to some Bow Wow Wow the other day, and was blown away by Leigh Gorman's bass playing. I had totally forgotten how good he is. I'm very aware of him from the original Adam And The Ants line up but, blimey! Of course add in to this Dave Barbarossa's driving drums and Mathew Ashman's rockabilly sounding guitar and musically they had something going on. Sadly, for me, the songs are a bit meh and the vocals just don't help. Was it a Wal he was playing then? (I should add that it was live performance of the band that was running in the background from YTube.)
  18. It's this sort of nastiness that doesn't help encourage them..
  19. Hmm, not many pics that show this one, oh well probs for the best πŸ˜†
  20. I will NEVER EVER play Mustang Sally again. Purple Rain is now on my swerve list. We used to do it live and I'm utterly bored of it and it was never in the right place in the set either. Plodding rock songs make me shudder too.
  21. Vocalised it?? Boom boom, dum dum dah dooo.
  22. Alice strings? I thought that was a place in Australia?? I've never ordered from AliExpress but might give the roundwounds a go just to see.
  23. Not seen a Bo Diddly style P before.
  24. The main man!!!
  25. I wish I had pulled the trigger on one of the Retrovibe Renegades when they were available. I think Mr Hall got shirty about it though so they were limited production? Anyhoo, I did buy a Retrovibe Les Paul style short scale bass from them and it was loaded with their Ric pick ups and it sounds great! With new strings you can certainly get a Ric tone from it. I managed to knock it over yesterday, very obvious big dint on the front now
