It's lovely to play. Some people find the shorter scale not to their taste, especially if they are aggressive players who really like to dig in (obviously that's not really Matt Garrison's style or aim so it's somewhat understandable).

It's built more along the lines of their customs than the other standards with different neck/body construction and back angled headstock etc.

It's also a really pretty instrument in the flesh, a little difficult to catch the quality of the top on film. Very 'tactile' as well, just seems to fit really nicely.

We've sold 2 or 3 of these now and every owner has raved about them. Definitely something quite special :)

It does look lovely, id love to try one and see how it matches my memory of a custom MG. My worry is that i would then have to tell myself over and over that i cannot afford a fodera, certainly not in the spec i would go for

  2. @CamdenRob, if my friend happens to end up working later than 630 (her work seem to be making a habit of swapping shifts around atm, so she sometimes works a later shift till 9) would you fancy a pint?

  3. OK, my friend lives in North London but i'm happy to meet in the centre or wherever anyone else fancies/is convenient. Also happy to swap coffee for beer if thats what people fancy ;)

  4. Best - The gallery, called them to inquire about an SKB bass safe for my cruise work. Alex asked me to call back the next day to make sure they had them in stock, then he beat me to the punch and called first, had it ready for me the day after. Big props to strings direct too, great people, and to John East, best customer care ive ever experienced.

Worst - The old Leeds Sound Control. When i was after my MIM 50s Precision they tried to steer me onto an MIA P, then quoted me a £150 more than GAK....

  5. I'm down in London on the 19th-20th september seeing a friend of mine, and happen to be at a loose end during both days up till about 630pm ish since she's having to work, so....anyone fancy Coffee and/or lunch and maybe....i dunno, talk bass for a bit? :)

edit *oops wrong bash... ah well never mind the point still stands*

Just met bluejay for a trade who has got me interested in coming along to this... Wonderful lady, if half of those attending are as passionate about bass as she is it'll be a wonderful day....

Not sure I can really bring anything along to compete with the spoils currently on offer though... Maybe I'll bring a looper for a demo.

Its a gorgeous bass it has to be said. The pic i have of both this and my 97 LX6 together is a serious piece of bass porn but it wont let me upload it...

  8. Got my hands on my second Warwick recently, 2008 Streamer Jazzman custom shop in French Violet with matching headstock and planet inlays. Sounds and feels great, so different to my Streamer 6, not least in it has the much thicker Ovankol neck profile. Enjoy :)

    I couldn't pick out Eude's Finn.

I can't think what Kiwi's Shuker looks like but I just recall a Kiwi inlay.

Shep's Roscoe... if I was in a room full or Roscoes, I would have to get a measuring tape out to find the one which was 32" scale!

(PS not saying, they aren't iconic basses, just that I as an individual find them hard to picture right now!)

Those were just mine, mainly because i followed the build diaries fairly closely
