  1. https://invisioncommunity.com/4guides/member-functions/achievements-ranks-r362/ I think it's more a case that the software update comes with these things and it's been deliberately made a bit of a business to turn them off.
  2. I have been ‘promoted’ overnight. To ‘enthusiast’. ‘They’ could not be more wrong.
  3. Sorry, badger farms? Is that to make shaving brushes with?
  4. Also, it's mostly here, including a link to the original isolated bass track*: * which has now been removed. Oh well.
  5. Mind you, this “top 7%” thing’s a bit sinister isn’t it?
  6. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stink_badger In case anyone needs any …
  7. Only by gaming the system can we win. Can I have a like?
  8. It means that you are a collaborator, selling nuclear secrets to the enemy.
  9. Just realised that while I may have some way to go before I am a Grand Master (is that a Gretsch?) I have at least reached drawer-dropping status. Will set up a separate begging thread to build up my likes.
  10. Were one to do so, I’ve no doubt one would be rated “upstanding member”.
  11. I am now an Explorer and the last post earned me a ‘great content’ badge. D’ya think another 130 points will get me promoted to Thunderbird? The campaign starts here.
  12. img.cAuthorPane_badge, ul.cAuthorPane_info li:nth-of-type(2) { display:none; } Not that I'm bothered you understand, but if you did want to kill the sucky gamification, this sledgehammer will crack that particular nut ...
  13. This was number one, ffs As for the Shaggs, colour me pretentious. So bad they're good, and every now and then there's a video of some capable musician or other playing a note-perfect cover of their odd rhythms and "melodies". As in the one above where the backing musicans are reading from a score and playing correctly untuned guitars. This makes them and me laugh, possibly for different reasons. Also: have you seen Foot-Foot? Weird-looking cat. Anyway, here's the list of awful music currently in contention, according to scientists (probably): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_music_considered_the_worst
  14. I'm not sure there is any such rule? Only rules I'm aware of concern publicising one's own listings and not mentioning he-who-must-not-be-named. I'm sure the mods can set us straight, though.
  15. Could start here: https://kaliummusic.com/shop/strings/electric-bass/ If you can get an F-string long enough I don't see why it wouldn't be possible with some fiddling about with bridge, nut and truss. This guy uses a banjo string for his top end (scroll about 3/4 of the way down to where he talks about strings): https://smartbassguitar.com/the-brian-gibson-interview-lightning-bolts-low-end/ I keep meaning to do this myself, so please do post results if you try it. I guess if you can get string sets for 7-strings you're laughing: https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Ibanez-BTB747-7-String-Bass-Natural-Low-Gloss/28R5
  16. Now you mention it, one of them isn't wearing a cardie is he? He'll catch his death like that.
  17. Do you think there's an algorithm out there that can take three songs you like and work out your identity? In case there is, here's something else from long ago. It's a song about American tourists. Can I have this one too?
  18. Also these chaps had their moments:
  19. Wot no Cardigans?
  20. Hello If I want to go stack-knobby with my road worn bass, is there any way to get non-shiny hardware? Such parts seem to be like hens’ diamond-encrusted teeth in the everyday world. Ta
  21. Nah, early man (Pale Leo?) got it right first time (source: https://www.donsmaps.com/musicalinstruments.html)
  22. Same here, except it will take me slightly longer to toy with the thing and get frustrated before realising I don't get on with music tech and selling it on. Reckon the delay will end up costing us UK VAT on top?
