Will bump this now and then until I lose the will to live ... I have for sale the original, used-once 9v 2-band, four-pot electronic innards from a Warwick Rockbass Streamer NT. NB: This came from a bass with active pickups. There's one used with passive pickups below. I can't discern any physical difference, but hey. The part number is SP - RB125 and normally sells for a snadge over £50 plus postage from Germany. Details here: https://shop.warwick.de/en/pickups/accessories-parts/bass-electronics/21366/active-electronic-for-passive-pus-vol-balmn250k-treble-bass No longer available? Controls are volume, pup blend, bass and treble. Knobs available should you need them. Pots marked as follows (wire wraps are labelled): Volume Alpha A25kΩ; pup blend (M?)N250K; Treble B 50K; Bass none found, presumed covered in solder! Everything was removed by a proper luthier, not me. Electronics mystify me. So on the off-chance you have a Rockbass with four holes, and a broken preamp, this is your replacement. It's vaguely possible you might think of another use for it but I can't, and I won't hold my breath waiting for suggestions. Price includes delivery. Fill your bootses.

Why thank you! It is very spot on, but a vanity thing for me really -- I don't play it often (not even mad on the P-bass sound 😲), just like having a beautiful thing around. And given I've got more basses than pounds, here we are ... Mind you, it's a mistake to ignore those heartstrings I reckon ... 😉- 7 replies

What if that's me? What if the sound I hear in my head isn't the same as what everyone else hears? What if everyone is laughing at me when I think I'm laying down a well sick groove carpet?

This has made me want to stop playing forever 😭

Bought a pair of Phil Jones Bass H850 headphones in the clearance sale from Guitar Guitar. Hated them. To me, they made my basses sound fizzy. YMMV, though I'm not likely to take a return on these. GG won't take a return for hygiene reasons. Hopefully Basschatters will be less sensitive but I should stress that I have worn these for a total of about 5 minutes. You can have them for what I paid. I'll even shout for the postage. If you turn out to like them, you'll have yourself a virtually brand new boxed set of cans for £20 less than anyone else is asking (GG have run out). PJB product page: http://philjonesbass.net/cms/index.php/product-h850/ Pics? Well, they look exactly like a brand new pair of headphones in a box with all the kit, but shout me if you need any pics for any reason.

Phil Jones Bass clearance at guitarguitar

£75 new from a music shop in Blackpool. Travesty of a bass. I got a mate at school to put a “preamp” in it, because he knew some electronics. When engaged, this made it squeal like a dying robot. Replaced with a £199 JV Squier, at which point its shortcomings became clear. No idea what happened to this, presumably sold it to buy food like everything else from that era. I don’t actually remember it being that bad, but I wasn’t really qualified to judge. (All tinternet pics — like I could afford a camera back then)

But Shirley having side dots on a bare board that are anywhere other than the place you put your finger is blimmin’ useless? On a lined board I can’t see it matters.

Would love to hear that! I think the ‘big excerpt’ thing came in a recent site update? You could try making the link again. Then when it converts it to the preview format, hopefully there should be a pop-up thing in the edit window that lets you undo the conversion.
