Saw a monochrome pic on the front of an early Motörhead EP. Someone told me that one of the band members was playing a bass guitar. It had four fat strings, massive tuners and produced really low, deep notes. I just thought that looked like the coolest instrument ever and I just knew I had to have one. Still think that, too.

I don't think they made a '58 Jazz first time round, never mind reissues. You might find your answer here, maybe? https://forums.fender.com/

Somehow, Neil made selling a bass cab to someone a million billion miles away a completely hassle-free experience. Enjoy the cab!

Sold Painy a pedal, and would happily sell him another if I had one Thanks, dude.

More pics Made in Mexico 2011, but in the style of a good ol' 1957 made-in-America P. In the popular 'sunburst' colourway and positively oozing fake wear and tear. It's lovely. I rarely play it but everyone needs a P, don't they? Comes with a decent Fender gig bag, weighs 3.5kg (7.72lb) according to my (slightly flattering?) bathroom scales. I am literally crying like a baby at the thought of parting with this. Details, as if you needed them: https://shop.fender.com/en-US/electric-basses/precision-bass/road-worn-50s-precision-bass/0131712303.html?rl=en_US&rdl=en_GB Not keen to post but might be persuadable. Sensible offers considered. No overseas postage, sorry. Good for metal. Probably

Turns out I really need £350, and how is this German-built five-string two-pickup bass not worth such a paltry amount? Rhetorical question, btw. Anyway, AYMBA, before the Rockbass thing, Warwick produced these entry-level passive Streamers in Germany. This one is the 5-string, 2-pickup model, built in September 2000. The body is carolena (pine, apparently) and the neck is ovangkol. Natural oil finish and one-piece bridge. Sounds very nice too, though the output seems a bit quieter than most basses -- I understand that's down to the pots used on this model, but haven't got around to replacing them. Proper solid chunky wood, hence 4.2kg / 9.26lb. Comes in a Warwick gig bag ('proudly made with RokTex©'). Some wear and tear to the body if you look closely. Strung low E to high C. Sensible offers entertained. Sorry, no overseas postage. Not keen to post at all, in fact, but might be persuadable within the UK. OK, £275 anyone? Pretty much what you'd pay for a cheapo Rockbass, only you get a proper German one to show off to your mates and feel all growed up. All the pics:

SOLD: Warwick Streamer LX Jazzman 4 fretless (unlined)

More pics The only bass I ever owned that paid for itself via gigging. I bought it new from Denmark Street in 2003 and it was my only bass for about 5 years. It has some minor wear and tear but has been regularly waxed and well looked after. At one point I had Martin at the Bass Gallery put mother-of-pearl dots in the fingerboard at my, ahem, 'difficult' places. Later thought better of it, so had Bernie at GB Guitars replace them with black plastic dots which are only visible in the right light. All top quality workmanship but hence the bargain price. Ebony board on ovangkol bolt-on neck. Ash body with flame maple front. Three-band EQ with push-pull pot to engage passive mode. Gold hardware, side dots to mark 'fret' positions. A stonking solid bit of wooden loveliness weighing 4kg (8.82lb). Cuts through the mix like a big rusty carving knife of music. Also goes mwah. Comes in a tough Warwick gig bag, though sadly not the original velvety-lined one (the cat found that and weeed on it). Don't think you can get these now unless you pay Custom Shop prices with your puny English pounds. Sorry, no overseas sales. I'm not mad keen to post but might be persuadable. Sensible offers may be entertained. -
View more pics Gigged but unmarked and perfect. Classic tiny 1x12 plus tweeter, 8 ohms & rated 600W -- fits in the back of a convertible but fills the room with low-pitched loveliness. (You do have a convertible, don't you?) Here's the skinny: https://barefacedaudio.com/products/super-midget Complete with Roqsolid dust cover. These currently go for £729 so I reckon five tons is a cracking deal. I'm probably not going to post this, mind.

More pics I know, I know, it's me not you, but I never got on with this. It's the universally loved Character Series VT Bass pedal (non-DI version) that turns your bedroom practice set-up into an Ampeg stack. Use a 9v battery or standard 100mA PSU (not included). Apparently you can dial it from SVT to Flip-Top and everything in between, whatever that means. All sounds a bit 1970s to me but you probably know better and will get a bargain at this price. I thought I had the tin but can't find it now -- I'll have a look in the loft if it's important to you. The pedal is pristine, but for the two strips of pedalboard tape on the bottom. £85 delivered. No overseas postage, sorry. Good for metal.

Having seen the original, I now accept that the lady was probably part of the act. But I cannot imagine Holly J going "Eh up, Lem, since you're here, how's about coming on halfway through, pretending to be a lost guitarist looking for the 1950s and then kidnapping the dancer? I feel it's just what the performance needs, innit."
-
Just to stray moderately back on topic ... a) that Lemmy / stripper cameo has to be the weirdest sequence I've ever seen. Do you suppose the Frankies knew any of that was going to happen? b) isn't that one of the Calm Down Scousers on drums?
-
http://www.rotosound.com/artists/ Just looked through the list -- does take a while doesn't it? Has to be Hendrix for me, since a) Lemmy is missing for some reason; and b) this:

Now *that* is what I call a blog post. Sort of Mr Abusing after anger management. Probably just wants something about bass in there — can we shoehorn in something about Alfred-Lord’s secret double life as a gypsy punk single-bassist? Or maybe Armitage plays cajon?

As Ped & others have said, it’s just scareware — all the guy has is your email address. Not even your name.

There are some that are just scareware and some where they lock the pc unless you pay them. Maybe post the text, redacted as you see fit?
